Bottle from Cork and Barrel. Pours orange with a thin khaki head. Aroma is funky as hell and not in a good way. It smells almost like funky ass feat. That essence also comes across on the tongue which feels more like biting into a Marlboro red sandwich. Finishes clean. This one is a big miss for me.

0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Dark amber color. Sweetish toffeish nutty aroma with some earthy-herbal notes. Sweet flavor with toffee, milk chocolate and nuts with firm bitterness and some earthy-herbal hops. Not so hoppy IPA.

Bottle from Beer Cartel. Slightly hazy orange/amber, lasting head, floral, citrus/orange, strong caramel/malt aroma and flavour, slightly dusty/musty. Medium bitterness, high residual sweetness, medium body. Quite nice, preferred the Amarillo though.

A bottle drunk at a Single Hop IPA tasting I organized. The Appollo IPA had a slight funky aroma with an earthy taste and a really mild bitterness but tasted rough on it’s own.

330ml bottle from Kihoskh

Pours dark orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of grassy hops, biscuity malts and lemon. Taste is malty, bready and slightly grainy with some aged hops. Finish is malty and cardboardy. Doesn’t taste very fresh.

Pours copper color with a medium sized head. Aroma of hops, fruits, mild pine notes, some goose berry bush and grassy malts. Flavor of malts, some faint resiny hops and hay. Stuffy.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a hazy amber golden colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of gooseberry bush, mint and caramel. Flavour of caramel malts, really strong gooseberry bush, grassy bitterness and some pine. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a harsh, bitter, grassy finish. Obviously not at it’s best before, BBE 06.10.2013.

330 ml bottle at home - taken from notes. Copper colour, decent head. Nice fruity aromas, frapefruit. Pine. Bitter body all the way through, sweet bitter finish. Nice drinking beer, nothing special though.

One of the more complex single-hop Mikkellers. This brewer’s beers always look great and this is no exception: IPA bronze with an enduring head. Quite a faint aroma of watery tropical fruit cordial and caramalt. Full mouthfeel - my favourite aspect of this beer. Quite a subtle flavour mix crowned by nice Orval herbal notes. Some grapefruit tartness and a dry, earthy finish. (33cl bottle from Leura Cellars. BB 6/10/13)
