Bottle, 33cl. Light unclear with a foamy off white head. Aroma is full frontal flowery hops, lime, herbs, with toffee malty notes. Medium body with medium sweetness and a long dry bitter finish with quite some perfumery notes of tropical fruits and flowers.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Darkish golden pour with a decent off white head. Grassy hop and tropical fruit present in the nose alongside some vague spiciness.Relatively restrained hoppage in the flavour alongside further fruit and a slight earthiness. Quality stuff but not quite total lift off....

330 ml @ Patricks. Slightly hazy reddish orange with a big, creamy off-white head. Aroma has more grass and hay than fruit, a hint of caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, a bit crass bitterness, grass and a rather dry biscuit type malt flavor. Medium body and bitter aftertaste. Descent, but far from the best single hop. Not in balance.

Bottle at Olympen. Pours deep golden with a huge head. Citrussy aroma, hints of grass. Some initial caramel countered by citrussy and even earthy hoppiness. Interesting.

Draft. Pours amber orange with an off white head. Fruity tropical hops with light sweet malts and medium bitterness. Better than most of the other Mikkeller Single Hops.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber, with a fairly large off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Fruity and quite sweet hops aromas dominate the nose, with lychee, melon and rosewater most prominent, sitting over a base of caramel malt. Tropical fruit hops up front give way to smooth caramel malt, which lends a bit of body to the beer. More fruity hops come through in the finish, with sweet lychee and perhaps a touch of bubblegum. Apollo is not a hop I have had unaccompanied before - it does certainly create some very interesting flavours. Whilst perhaps not as potent as some of Mikkeller’s other single hop IPAs, this is still an interesting and very pleasant beer.
