3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy reddish copper. Aroma is usual mix of gentle caramel, cereal, and hops - hops in this case provide a really floral character. Gentle bitterness. Fruity, almost juicy. Unconventional ipa, but enjoyable.

Bottle, 33cl. Clear maple copper with a minimal, frothy tan head. Aromas of pine resin, wood, fruits. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Low sweetness with a heavy bitterness. Strong roasted character gives it a very pleasant flavor. Heavy, complex and warming.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Looks solid; malty though. A very slightly hazy dark (almost burnt) golden orange with thin white lacing. Smells like a sweet malt bomb with some hops in the background. Tastes like it smells, but watered down. Average (at best) on the palate. An underwhelming (albeit admittedly old) example of the style.

Tap @ The Taphouse Sydney. Hazy amber with a medium off white head and strong lacing. Subtle aromas of grapefruit, citrus flowers and some caramel malt. Citrus fruit, a hint of resin with some caramel back notes. Strong bitterness throughout the palate. A good showcase of the bravo hop.

I was looking forward to Trying Mikkeler, since it gets so many praises of being good and innovative brewer. I was excited to find It’s Hop Series at a reasonable price. Unfortunately my anticipation and excitement was not matched by high standards that everyone praises Mikkeller to live by. Everyone in supply chain is to blame… Mikkeller does not have production dates, Distributor Trying to sell the product no matter what, Binny’s not having balls to stand up to its supplier and let them know that it is out of date and no good. I was pissed… All of them were old and stale, therefore complete waste of time and money. Every time I come across bad batch I swear to stop buying anything that has no dates… I just might do that, since there are plenty of other choices… Going Back to Mikkeller Hop Series… All of them Poured A Shade Lighter Or A Shade Darker of Muddy Brown. All of them Had Smaller or Larger Floaters. Huge Head, Decent Lacing. Earthy, Stale Hops Aroma. Tasted pretty much the same: Earthy, Malt, Stale Hops. Moderate Bitter Finish… Pass It Unless You Know It Is Fresh…
