May 2010. 12 oz. bottle. Slightly on the milder side, but yet an outstanding and complex IPA. Resin, citrus, pine... it’s all there.

On tap, pours a beautiful solid pale amber. Incredible aromas of citrus. But a little flat on the tongue with a weak hoppy taste

Bottle from Beer Cartel. Slightly hazy orange/amber, large slowly dissipating head, lots of floral characters, orange rind, some musk, ripe peaches, grass, medium bitterness, very smooth to drink. My favourite Single Hop so far (Amarillo, Apollo, Cascade, Centennial).

A bottle drunk at a Single Hop IPA tasting I organized. The Centennial IPA gave me a mild pine smell with a slight fruity sweetness but an overall mildly bitter taste with a sharp finish. I really enjoyed this beer, I found it was the best Single Hop IPA of the 4 we tried at the tasting. Centennial does a nice job on it’s own.

This swirling mass of a beer pours a dark cloudy amber with some floaties amid the vigorous carbonation and one of the tightest heads I’ve ever seen. Malt is dominant on the nose, with biscuit and some grassy hop aromas present. The taste is completely different, with lots of fresh fruit (peaches, green apple, lemon) coming through, along with some hop bitterness in the mid palate. The malt that was so prominent in the aroma fades into the background somewhat, but still lends a biscuity backbone to the beer. Finish is quite clean, leaving a light apple juice aftertaste. Very good.

Pours a clear orange color with a off white foamy head. Aroma is fresh hop, spice, earthy notes and a touch of sugary sweetness. Flavor is sharp hops, some dry notes, caramel flavoring. Good finish

Strong whiskeyish and caramel nose. Copper-orange. Nice peppery initial / sweet malty mid, with some yogurt candy / balanced finished and then a bit of a raspy aftertaste. Medium body. Pretty good. Centennial stands out, but not in a big way; the near barleywine maltiness prevents that.
