Foamy light reddish brown. Aroma is quite layered for a single hop - citrus, stonefruits, subtle spruce. Taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma, but that may be from being a couple months old. Taste is a little one dimensional. Altogether pleasant beer. Perhaps some tiny diacetyl

Idiosynkrasie (3815) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 14, 2014
330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Piney, hoppy aroma is perfectly integrated into a caramel malty presetting, sweet-ish, some pineapple, some spruce and resin. Taste is bitter and piney hoppy, explicit, slightly dry and ligneous pineapple note, some tartness, spruce and resin, a touch of glue. Sadly not the freshest example.

"Livet är ett privilegium för medelmåttor", skriver muntergöken E.M. Cioran. Och det är därför det här halvdana ölet drar åt sig toppbetyg som flugor till skit, frestas man att tillägga. Sitt ni kvar och skåla, själv har jag en värdighet att tänka på.

From bottle. Pours a half-hazy dark orange with a fluffy off-white head that settles on the beer and stays there forever. Lots of sediment in this bottle. Big citrus aroma with lots of caramel, as well. Taste is moderately bitter, with citrus and caramel. Bitter finish.

The Centennial one, with moussy, yellowish head and misty amber colour like the other ones (though the head formation was notably more spectacular in the Amarillo and Tomahawk versions, but this can be a coincidence). Very, very citrussy aroma, even of orange and grapefruit juice, tonic water, thyme, grass, lavender, tobacco, flowers. Citrussy onset, strong carbonation but still rather thin mouthfeel, velvety, very early spicy, citrussy, floral hop bitterness. I love the perfume of Centennial and this beer puts it into its full glory.
