Bottle from The Beerhive. Darkish amber big creamy head. Moderate distinctive citra nose yellow fruit and a touch of cheese. More carbonated on the palate than i’d expected, slightly foamy in the mouth with mildly oily finish. Boozier than i’d hoped for too, doesn’t quite do it on the hop kick either although distinctly bitter on the end. Overall a bit of a disappointment from one of my favourite brewers, and nowhere near touching The Kernel’s.

33cl bottle. Pours light hazy brown. taste of caramel, citrus, hops and bitter aftertaste. some petrol here too. great ipa, looking forward to taste the rest of the single hop ipa series.

On tap at La Bona Pinta in Barcelona. Pours a hazed, dull copper colored body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter caramels with some bread and a good amount of juicy Citra hops giving off a nice citrus and a light tropical fruit. Flavor is similar. Lightly spiced citruses up front with some tropical fruits and a sweeter, bready caramel malt backing. Finishes dry and moderately bitter with a good amount of orange citruses and a balanced, sweeter caramel. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium, smooth body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid single hop IPA. On the sweeter side, but well balanced with plenty of fruity hops. Good beer.

A bottle drunk at a Single Hop IPA tasting I organized. I felt the Citra IPA gave off a pine aroma with a subtle mild citrus taste and a pretty bitter but pleasant aftertaste. It was more fruity & piney once it warmed up.

Aroma: fresh citrus and resin. Appearance: hazy amber orange, massive head. Taste: resin, grapefruit and mango, heavy/medium bitterness. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, long bitter finish. Overall: Very nice and balanced single hop with fresh citrus taste and a great aroma.

Draft, pours dark amber. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Maltprofile is a little sweet bit plesant. Flavour is citrus and grapefruit hops. Some sweetness from the malt

Bottle. Slightly murky orange amber pour with a smaller frothy head. Awesome citrus hop nose and taste. One of my favorite from this series.

Pours dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, citrus, exotic fruits and grassy hops. Taste is smooth, mildly fruity and citrusy with caramely malts. Finish is fruity and smooth with citrusy and malty notes. Decent IPA.

Pours a golden amber colour with a white head. Aroma of floral hops, grass and caramel malts.Flavour of caramel malts, floral hops, grapefruit and strong citrusy tanginess. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bitter, floral, grapefruity finish. A rather straightforward and pleasant IPA.

33 cl bottle.
Pours hazy copper color with small head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus fruits, pine needles and orange peel. Flavor of citrus fruits, mild caramel malts, some goose berries and resiny hops. Nice.
