Bottle. Pours a golden amber with some hazing. Smallish dense offwhite head which hangs in there for a while. Great hop aromas, pine resin and some light tropical fruits, balanced nicely by light caramel. Flavours are initially sweet before resiny hop bitterness takes over. Medium mouthfell. Good stuff.

330 ml bottle. Dark golden body with a big, stable, creamy off-white head. Aroma has pine and light caramel malt. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, citric fruity, light piny and balanced bitterness. Medium body and bitter aftertaste. A decent IPA, but as for most single hops it’s not made for perfection.

Pleasant poor with a nice lacing head. Over all it’s a bitter sweet beverage with aroma of honey and pine.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It pours an unclear, dark golden body and a big, dense, lasting off-white head. Some lacings. Lots of pine cones and resin on the nose, some maltyness underneath. Some peppery hints. There’s a healthy dose of bitterness both initially and in the end, with flavors of resin, pine cones and some maltyness. Full body, nice carbonation, although a bit heavy. Pleasant finish. A nice one indeed, tasteful, pleasant and sort of quenching. 121017

Pours deep amber with a fading head. Nose shows passion fruit, lychee, peach, pineapple and grapefruit. Some soft clean malt underneath. Tropical fruit carries through as a flavour, with lots of grapefruit too. Fairly sharp bitterness. Could use more crystal malt. Carbonation is a bit high.

THOUGHTS: A great study of a wonderful hop. Lots of passion fruit and other tropical fruits. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, medium to dark, brownish orange with bright orange highlights, nice carbonation, and a large, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished but left excellent lacing. The aroma had light caramel; moderate to heavy floral passion fruit and some tropical fruit hops; and hints of grapefruit hops; but mostly passion fruit. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter and slightly acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, moderate to heavily bitter and light to moderately acidic with an average to long duration. There was caramel, passion fruit, hints of citrus, citrus rind, floral hops, nectar, mostly passion fruit and citrus rind. THe medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a metallic ifnish.
