UPDATED: JUL 20, 2009 330ml bottle. I CAN NOT WAIT TO DIVE INTO THIS ONE!!! FACEFIRST INTO A BILLOW OF NELSON SAUVIN FOAM!!! Pours just like the other single hops, glowing orange amber with a tall foamy off-white thick frothy head. Sweet juicy nelson sauvin aroma, very grapey, little cat piss, fantastic! I LOVE THIS HOP! MMMM bitter spicy grape juice, actually fairly sweet which really brings out the juiciness, mangos, cantaloupe, honeydew, white wine, some grapefruit, just lovely!!! Medium bodied with smooth medium sized sizzling carbonation, foamy mouth-feel. 18.104.22.168.17

A 0.33L bottle tasted at Kaisla. Slightly black current in the nose. Pale large head. Clear coppery colour (before adding sediment). Soft fruity taste. Not too sweet. Adding sediment makes hazy. Soft taste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with Sparky27...thanks Eric!!! Burnt orange color with a small off-white head that quickly diminished to nothing. Ample carbonation...a bit prickly, even. All citrus, not a ton of pine. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting to try many of the hop varieties next to one another.

Bottle from Capone’s bottle shop, excited about this, because I love me some nelson hops. Not super cold but cold enough. Pours rich orange with a big foamy tan head. Nose is sweet and super super citrus which is what I like. Taste is sweet, rich, lots of citrus, and very good. Not like Nelson from Alpine though.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, consumed at Kemmel campsite, Belgium, 09-06-09 Had this in the Mikkeller Single Hop tasting with Nelson Sauvin, Warrior, Simcoe and Cascade all up for the taste off. This poured hazy amber which really was the case for all of them. Touch of perfume followed by tropical fruits, quite excellent. Glorious tasting, wonderful interplay between exotic fruitiness and sweetness, nice soft mouthfeel. There is a subdued bitterness, its a superb beer, totally sexy. Its like a little taste of a caribbean cocktail for some reason, stunner. A9 A4 F9 P4 Ov18 4.4

copper with a huge rocky, whipped off-white head. monstrous wet, juicy, fruity hop aroma. lots of citrus(sweet mandarin orange syrup) but a bit floral as well. peachy citrus orange with some spiciness in the flavor. also a good bit of caramel malt for balance. tangy sweet tart. grape bubble gum. medium bodied and no harsh bitter bite in finish. i would love to sample all the single hops together someday. sounds like a good tasting experiment.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Orange body with rocky, lasting head. Nice prickly, hoppy taste. Grapefruit throughout. With pine in the finish. Lots of hops, so right up my alley. Well done.

Poured a large head that wanted to hang around a bit on a orangey body. Passionfruit then grapefruit in the aroma. Taste is mainly the hops, don’t notice much malt, not as intense as the last two single hop ipa’s but still quite good

Tap. Gras aroma. Light earth and malt body with light notes of hops. Hop palate with notes of grass. Rather plain.
