Bright vibrant orange color, thick beige head, highly effervescent. Tropical citrus aroma; orange, grapefruit, kumquat. A shade over aggressive in the carbonation. Starts and ends bitter, long bitter aftertaste. Bitterness comes off like orange rind and somehow bitter squash. A little yeasty as well. Not the best IPA ever to pass through my lips, but damn can Mikkeller make a tasty IPA.

Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick, foamy head with a good amount of lacing. It’s full of grapefruity hop notes with a little underlying malt. Medium bodied, well carbonated and smooth.

01/10/2009. 330ml bottle Hashigo Zake. Herb and dry gass at first. Berry fruit later (well spotted Dom). Caramel malt at the centre of this beer but everything hangs of it really nicely. It’s clean, it’s bitter, it’s fruity, it’s balanced. Strong character. Much better use of Sauvin than I’m seeing out of NZ berweries... so far. Good boys.

Courtesy of jkwalking05. Clear amber with a frothy white head. Grassy hop aroma. Smooth medium body. Nice grassy hop flavors on a lightly sweet pale malt base.

Amber, orange colored brew. Hoppy, grapefruit, berries in the aroma. Flavor has got some very nice hop taste, these hops are really nice. Intense, but not aggressive. Hop flavor is not long lasting. This is an easy drinking and higlly enjoyable IPA.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2009 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy golden/amber, small head. Minty black currant aroma. Mid-sweet and medium bodied. Uncomplicated malt acting as support to the minty black currant hops. Lasting but unassaulting bitterness. Great IPA!

Thanks to jkwalking05. I agree with Cavie. I used to work at Calloway’s Nursery, and it’s about right on the aroma. Tastes like stale fruit and grain. Maybe some hops in the finish.

Bottle at Halvfräck panna. High fluffy beige head. Fresh grapefruit aroma with passionfruit and a small sulphur note. The taste is plesant smooth for an IPA with just a tuch of caramell. Well fermented with a good body and a smooth bitterness. The best of the single hop from Mikkeller.

Bottle. Pours clear darkish amber with a big rocky white head leaving plenty of lace. The hoppy aroma is very nice and has notes of honey, caramel and pine. The flavour is fairly similar with honey and caramel as well as a bit of citrus. Medium bodied with a very smooth mouthfeel. Fairly sweet but far from sickly, this is a really good IPA, less aggressive than some, and shows off the particular hop variety nicely.
