JPDIPSO (4956) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 27, 2009
UPDATED: MAY 28, 2009 Amber color with a tall khaki head. Orange rind and pine aromas. Some sweet flowers and rudy red grapefruit in the mix as well. Settles with latices of lace. Lots of carbonation in this one, even with a full pour. I regretfully try a more vigorous pour and am greeted by an overflowing glass. While a moderate loss of beer. the feel is much better and the flavors are more easily discerned. Early apricot and light caramel. Middle has grapefruit and light pale malt. The malt comes out in all phases in this one. Finish is just a bit acidic, with some lime and orange zest. Linger is long with again some light caramel. I like how the malt keeps working in this one.

(Bottle) Pours light hazy amber with an off-white head. The aroma holds tones of dry citrus and tropical fruits like lemon, lime, grapefruit, apricot and pineapples. Undertones of black currant, roses and cat box. The malt brings light caramel and light crackers. The flavour is light sweet, light acidic and medium to heavily bitter with tones of citrus, resin, light pine, dry caramel and cracker. The mouthfeel is light, fresh and clean with a crisp carbonation. Lemony and grapefruity citrus lingers. Light to medium bodied.

Sample at CPH beerfestival. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are flowers, hops, citrus and grass. Very long and bitter finish.

Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, grapes, citrus fruits, and floral hops. Taste of red grapes, some citrus, grapefruit, lots of different fruits really, with some toast, a bit of grainy sweetness, and a bitter finish.

Bottle from SL. I thought my review was gonna be a bit fruity whacky, until I saw TomDec’s below. The pour was full amber with ample haze, big looking body, hearty looking. Head was very generous, even for an IPA, good lacing. The aroma was juicy fruity, grapes, tons of citrus, citrus-juices, caramel. The flavor was strong fruity juices, spicey bitter hops with a bit of a punch in the finish, but the sweet citrus and fruit elements kep this from really being bitter. Mouthfeel was full for the style, generously carbonated. A decent brew, but probably too sweet for the hop heads.

Pours a mostly translucent golden copper with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of grapes, citrus, floral and light caramel. Flavor of grapes, pine, grapefruit, some cereal grains and a nice hop bitterness.

Bottle picked up at SL. One was shared by robert at SL, this one was drank at home. Poured into a snifter, monster fluffy head. Great nose on this one. Very fruity and light pine and citrus. Nice orange color. Taste is fruity, light citrus notes. Nice fruity IPA. Light and easy to drink. Great beer overall, probably the best out of the singel hop mikkeller series. Thanks robert for sharing this one!

11.2oz bottle. Cap stamped 10/03/11. This one initially poured all head (off white). Took a while and settled to a medium and slightly hazy amberish-orange color. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, some fruitiness, and pine. Tastes of the same floral hoppiness, citrus, and the same lighter fruitiness. I was getting some grapes in the finish as well. Body was a little flat.

Poured clear amber with an inch and a half of foamy yellow-tinged head. Quite a unique aroma: mango, papaya, grapefruit, vanilla, flowers, & urine. Flavor is very tropical: mango, pineapple, papaya, muscat grape. Very bright and fruity. The finish is long and bitter with a bit of alcoholic heat. One of the better, and most unique IPAs, that I can remember drinking.
