Big brownish beige coarseish lasting head. Hazy amber body. Strong tropical fruity resiny grapes hop aroma with gooseberry notes. Dry-sweetish strawy grape and tropical fruit taste with resiny wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish-sweetish short grape and tropical fruit aftertaste with gooseberry notes. Very nice, and highly drinkable. (0.33l bottle at Håndverkerstuene, Oslo.)

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. The pour is stunning: dark hazy orange with a towering orange-tinted head that collapses into rocky flotsam and leaves thick lace. Bracingly hoppy aroma, chiefly of bright tropical fruits (especially guava), but with a fresh nuance that is its own. Palate is intensely hop-driven, again with an abundance of tropical fruit, finishing with a pithy citrus-peel bitterness. Underlying malts are sweet and a little sticky. A tremendous showcase for this under appreciated New Zealand hop variety.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught at Örsted, Copenhagen, 21 May 2009) Reddish amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity nose with grapefruit, orange peel and hints of pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, resin and citrus peel. A bit one dimensional, but with a generous and tasty hop character. Excellent beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. From Copenhagen, Denmark.
Amber colour with small creamy light tan head.
Dark caramel malt and dark hops in aroma.
Flavour is fresh liquorice drops, dark hops, wood and caramel malt. Not much Nelson Sauvin elements. Delicate nuances of Nelson Sauvin are run over by extensive caramel malt and strong alcohol. I’m a bit disappointed.

Bottle from ølbutikken. Very dry and piney, intense hoppiness. PErfume, mint. One dimensional, perhaps, as a one hop showcase should be, but this is lovely stuff.
