Probably my favourite of the five Mikkeller single hop IPAs I tried (tied with the Cascade, perhaps). Big cheesy yeasty aroma with pine. Taste is nicely bitter and piney without being unbalanced.

Citrus, some grapefruit and peach on the nose. Also a piney, grassy backdrop. Taste is a little subdued. Beautiful bouncy palate. Almost melts on the tongue. Mostly peach and citrus with some nice sweet malt. Has a wonderfully rounded bitterness. Competent Simcoe single hop IPA.

24th September 13, keg, did this one in, over in Budapest, at Only Good Beer’. Nice IPA, full flavour, served a little too cold, better as it warmed. Made short work of this one, after a long walk around the City

Single hop iporna är oftast rätt tråkiga. En kraftig beska som inte följs upp. Detta var också fallet här. Dock den bättre i serien.

Bottle 33 cl, BBE 07.05.2015. Pours amber in color with a frothy head. Pine, sweet ripe berries and floral notes in aroma. Nice. Slightly bitter grassy notes, some wooden piney ones and lemony juicyness in taste. This brew is pretty tasty, liking the hoppy notes along with a good, slightly sweet malty backbone keeping it together. Nice, slightly lemony bitterness and sweet ripe berries in aftertaste. Sadly there’s a bit of yeastyness pushing through in the end.

Draught @ Fairbar. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of malt, light fruity hops, but old and stale. Flavor is malt, caramel, stale hops. Medium body, soft carbonation, light bitter finish. Wonders how old this one was? 070913

Aroma: Grapefruit, Mango, Candyfloss, Lychee Appearance: Reddish amber, hazy, thin off-white head which settles quickly. Taste: Soft bitter characteristics, slight sourness. Palate: light thin body, medium-strong carbonation. Warm throaty finish. Overall: One-dimensional IPA. Pleasant aroma but not a balanced taste.

Solid ipa, prominent sweet malt and biscuit overlaid with sugary hops. A lovely peach gold with a lively head.

Good loking, dark amber color. Frothy head, vanishing quickly. Very refreshing aroma, sweetness from hops, but I would say it’s pineapple. Tastes fruity and a little bit of caramel notes. Mostly pineapple flavor, fading into medium bitterness. Very weak malty flavor. Some kind similar to First Frontier IPA but not well balanced. But on the other hand, well drinkable. Really worth a try.
