| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Bottle from K&L Redwood City for $5.99, which is a ripoff, but at least this was very good. Awesome appearance, slightly hazy amber with a large cream-colored head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is intense citrusy and resinous Simcoe hops and just a touch of crystal malt. Flavor is Simcoe city. Citrus, pine, and resin. Also some caramel and Munich malt that provides some sweetness to balance. Palate is sticky and lively with medium-full body for an IPA. Another really well-done single-hopper from Mikkeller, probably my favorite of the series so far. BelgianBeerGal (1331), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bottle from Papsoe. Big foamy head that lasts on top of a hazy, bronze pour with light sediment. The aroma is HUGE with lots of grapefruit and caramel and some pine resin and dust at the end. Very balanced flavour that starts pretty heavy with the malt and then hits with the hops at the finish. The bitterness lasts a fair time but is not sharp. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Dank, sticky, resinous nose that flows 1:1 into the taste. It’s piney, grapefruity, orange zest goodness all the way through. A lengthy sticky bitter finish closes a really, really good beer. Wish I could find this ultra-fresh. Again, the Mikkeller bunch have delivered. jonno (608), Brisbane, Australia

Well balanced, a bit sweet with a nice citrus and pineapple kick. A very good IPA but quite pricey. nate2g (1150), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Bottle. Fuck - it’s a gusher! Well I managed to salvage around half the bottle but the carbonation in this baby is just overkill. The little beer that remains appears amber with a massive white head on top. The Simcoe hop notes are evident though I think they may have been stunted in all the madness of opening and attempting to pour the beer. Juicy fruity flavours and the malt compliments the hops nicely. Smooth and bitter finish. I really need to get another bottle and try this beer properly, without any nasty surprises. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle from Gadds shop, thanks Eddie! Incredible red amber with a thin white head. Massive Simcoe all round. Amazing fruity chewy madness. There is nothing happening other than Simcoe. Thoroughly one dimensional and I am loving every minute. I don’t need to sit here and describe the hop to you, you know exactly what it does. What you need to know is that this beer is a stunning showcase for all I love about Simcoe. Shit the fuckin bed! kmweaver (2502), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, pulpy orange color; fluffy, light-tan head with great retention and lacing creeping up the sides of the glass; beautiful, textured pour. Tons of oranges and piney hop bitterness in the aroma, softly muted and showing a bit of age behind it without deadening: dense, oily and juicy, with a nicely dry candy sugar core poking through; beautifully aged IPA; minimal astringency. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: this actually shows a lot more chewy orange character than I’d expect from Simcoe, but there it is: oranges, then pine, then (again) candy sugar with minimal amounts of sugariness; this is a nicely dry rendition, with zesty orange and lemon peel on the tip of the tongue; lively carbonation; excellent IPA. I’d love to have tried this when it first came out. Lengthy, bitter finish showing oranges, citrus, pine and nicely toasted malts.
