2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Large frothy white head atop a clear, highly carbonated reddish hue body. Nose of the Sorachi Ace hop yet not as vibrant and strong as the Brooklyner version. Somewhat an Irish Red malt flavour with yeasty and bitterness. Okay but I’ve had a few better beers with this hop.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2 oz bottle 2011 from notes. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have grapefruit citrus, pine resin, moderate sweet bread, light earthy notes. Medium bodied. Finishes with more pine, earth, brown bread, moderate bitterness. Hops seem faded a bit.

Good single hop IPA. Sorachi Ace is a nice fruity bitter hop and worthy of a solo career.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with full head. Aromas of dill, tropical fruit, and light caramel. Flavors of limes, dill, resin, grass, and a bit of solvent. Late and long bitter finish. Interesting but odd.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Small bottle. Cloudy amber, white head. Nose is dill all the way, a bit of pine and tropical fruit in the background. Flavour is dill, malt is solid, refreshing and not in-your-face but has substance. Lovely, sorachi is a bit of a novelty, but one from pickle heaven.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle from Õllepood Nr. 1 in Tartu. Pours slightly reddish amber with a small head. Aroma is quite fruity - it has some green apples, fresh fruitiness and sweet marmalade. Taste reveals more of that bitter-sweet marmalade, some cherries as well. I like the balance between this lingering bitterness and malt character that this beer so well displays. Nice and enjoyable usage of that Japanese hop variety, one of the best results I have experienced. Aftertaste dries the mouth, has some grape-seed and some fruits. Nice and fully enjoyable!
