bottle at a bar, poured a murky amber colour with a white head. lot of malts in the nose, caramel, small hint of pines, grass, flowers, some bitter grapefruit and citrus, recognize the sorachi, but have seen beers that are brewed better with the use of this hop, kind of a murky mouthfeel, but maybe itís because itís just a bit to old. nobody will know

0,33L bottle, BB 03.06.2015. Pours amber with off-white head. The head stays for a long time. Aroma is malt, caramel, herbal, citrus. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, fruits, grass, citrus, grapefruit. Finish is lingering grapefruit and pine bitter. Overall: doesnít have a lot of typical sorachi ace character (which I like), but maybe this is because the bottle isnít very fresh. Still it is a solid IPA.

Wombata (468) - Kobe, JAPAN - SEP 4, 2014
Aroma: Buttery, fresh-cut wood, almost bourbon barrel but more subtle (next day I got light vanilla and wood, a good "soapy" floral, buttery character). Palate: Flavor: Buttery, woody, almost vanilla bourbon character, less sweet, moderately roasted caramel with balanced malt and woody finish. Comment: Interesting stuff. Iíve had around 4 beers that feature Sorachi Ace hops and this may be the most intense version. A really unusual hop.

Riempie la bocca dellíaroma tipico del Sorachi ma nonostante ciÚ risulta leggermente indistinguibile dopo qualche sorso, gusto che definirei burroso ma birra molto utile per isolare e comprendere questo luppolo giapponese!

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2014 Pours cloudy honey like color with big tan head. Floating crumbs. Fruity nose. Aroma is flowery, coconut, citrusy, hoppy. More you drink it it gets less bitter. Nice one!

Large frothy white head atop a clear, highly carbonated reddish hue body. Nose of the Sorachi Ace hop yet not as vibrant and strong as the Brooklyner version. Somewhat an Irish Red malt flavour with yeasty and bitterness. Okay but Iíve had a few better beers with this hop.

11.2 oz bottle 2011 from notes. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have grapefruit citrus, pine resin, moderate sweet bread, light earthy notes. Medium bodied. Finishes with more pine, earth, brown bread, moderate bitterness. Hops seem faded a bit.
