Amazing looking beer appears to be frozen in time with jelly look and looks like pieces of fruit. Sweet and bitter towards end. Thick white foam that stayed for a long time

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium chestnut, with a very large off-white head, which lasts very well and leaves excellent lacing. Typical Sorachi Ace notes are prominent in the aroma, especially bubblegum, plum and cherry, backed by faint caramel malt. Strong, bitter hops up front offer very much the same tastes as aromas. Cherry is especially prominent to begin, but it softens a little into more of a plum flavour. Sweet, bubblegum-like notes herald a nice, smooth caramel malt body, which blends nicely with the plum. More bubblegum and some black cherry create a pleasant aftertaste. I am a huge fan of single hop IPAs: using the same base with each hop really highlights their individual flavours, much like a single-variety wine. I enjoyed BrewDog’s IPA is Dead series very much, and I was hence delighted to discover Mikkeller doing the same thing. This is ever so slightly better than BrewDog’s Sorachi Ace IPA from that series, which is high praise. It’s nicely bitter, but with those sweet, fruity flavours to round it out; a lovely beer.

Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 31, 2012
Single bottle purchased at Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, AB on 03/01/2012. Colour: light brown / dark orange combination, with minimal white head. Nose: Wave afte wave of buttery toffee flood the nose. Swirling reveals a vegetable component and deep pine amongst spices. Fantastic. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium bitter, medium-light sour. Soft and lathering mouth feel. The mos suttle butterscotch throughout the mouth and then lots of mild tasting yet decently bitter hops dominate. Late bready hints and then a finish that builds in bitterness and leaves even more butterscotch long after drinking. Excellent taste - excellent beer.

Bottle at home bought in Hopduvel Ghent. Orange brown colour with big frothy golden head. Should say that I love Sorachi Ace. Aroma is fantastic, all that sour cream and chive, funky, bit citrus fruity and herbal and maybe even a bit of pepper. Taste is creamy and sour, bit of orange, some other fruit there too, bit of bubblegum. Really nice and smooth and quite full in the mouth. Lovely!

On keg at the Port Street Beer House. Pours a golden - amber colour with a thin white head. Aromas of bubblegum, pine, pineapple and caramel. Similar juicy hop flavours. Mild carbonation, oily and delicious.

draught@Erzbierschof Krone - hazy reddish-brown with a creamy persistent beige foam; hoppy aroma of coconut and grapefruit; notes of grapes too; clean, rounded and full-bodied; assertive and fairly bitter; quite dry, long resiney hoppy finish with more notes of grapefruit, coconut and mango - beautiful

Hazy brown. Complex aroma, herbs and malt. Full body, herbal palate, eucalyptus, white pepper, pleasant bitterness. One of the best of the series. Long bittersweet tail.

Bottle, Easter Sunday at Mum and Dad’s. Copper with a huge Belgian plume of head. Mouldering satsuma furred with mould aroma- pretty good, becoming outrageous. Soapy, bitter orange flavour with gingerbread, mouldy satsuma and star anise notes. Husk, body and linger. Love the Mikkeller Single Hop series and this is another corker.

Hazy amber beer, decent size head. Light palate, crispy. Sharp fresh Sorachi Ace - bitterish lemon with a trace of marmalade and a whisper of lime. Malt cream. Semi dry finish. Fab!

Vestergaard (910) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - MAR 19, 2015
Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours an orange amber with a small, white, dense head. Aroma has a lot going on, sweet bourbon-like vanilla, herbs, dill, caramel, sorachi ace hops, malty backbone, mint. Taste has some hoppy bitterness up front, but also a complex mix of the dill spicyness and the bourbon-like sweetness. Ends off very smooth and sweet. Really complex beer for being a single hop ipa! Love this hop! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
