3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Pungent piney and purfumy hops with some malts peeking out in the background. Jet black with a rich big brown head. Big pine and resin, with a bit of that perfume again. A very nice and well balanced bitterness, roasted malts is pretty far in the background. Although I really like this, I would have liked more roast coming through.

341mL Bottle 7.3% from Sherbrooke. Pours a sirius black, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is a violent clash between toasted malt, and piney, sticky hops. Taste is extremely hoppy, resinous sticky piney hop notes tempered with a pleasant coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar sweetness of the toasted malt. Superb.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Stale, roasty malt, old hoppy aroma. Beady tan lace among the black body. Seriously roasty on the palate. Hoppy, yet needs more of a hop kick to overcome the malt backbone. Not amazing.

Opaque black beer, big pale tan head. Airy palate, light and with minerally crispness. Super light dark malts, trace of coffee and malt cream. Piney hops with a touch of red berry fruits. Mildly bitter. Soft airy finish. A classic black IPA but notably light and fluffy!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle I picked up at Arrowine. Pours a translucent, deep brown with some fluffy, off white head. After a few minutes I noticed chunks of sediment in the bottom of my glass. Weird. Nose has plenty of pine, coffee grounds, a little rubber, some white grape, soap, grapefruit pith. Flavor follows suit, lightly sweet, some brown sugar, then gobs of pine, orange pith, soap, a little rubber band, a little bit of booze, some raisin too. Astringent, soapy, finish. Very true to style.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really dark mahogany brown colour with fluffy creamy head. Scent has hops, grape and some sweet fruits. Taste fuses the roasted malt flavors nicely with the hops, and mainly grapefruit. Soft and full texture, after warming for some time the roasted feel comes forward and balances this even more. Quite enjoyable but very complex beer.
