Ale brewed with lychee fruit and aged in oak barrels.

“Kristina, one lychee fruit lovin’ sour bitch, has always been a great friend to Mikkeller when we visit Chicago. This beer is made especially for her. A drink for our friend . . . cheers!”

Picked this up in a trade. Can’t remember who sent it but very excited to try it! No bottling date. Taken out of the cellar at 55 and poured into a Hill Farmstead Glass.

A - 2-Finger off-white head with big and small bubbles.Decent head lacing. SRM 2.5-3. Color is golden brown like a lot of beers I’ve had lately.

S - What a sour nose. Very intense sour scent with a huge funky yeast profile. I’m getting some dry fruits like apricot and banana chips with a healthy bit of raspberry

T - This is a very sour beer. It’s actually more tart and tongue electrifying bitterness. The beer is bitter but I credit it fully to the Lychee fruits which are known to be very tart.

M - 50/50 carbonation, medium body but not the champagne finish I was expecting. Very nice fruit juice finish with the bitterness that lingers on for a while.

O - Nice beer. Solid and very drinkable.

22-MAR-2012, bottle @Papsø. Golden with low almost white head. Tart nose. Exotic fruits and a little brett. Sour taste, very fruity. Again a little brett, and even salty...? Just fine.

Bottle (thanks HannonT for sharing)... Poured pale, yellowish with a lacy, off white head. Really nice tart, lychee, some citrus tones that meshed with sweet tart and smart-like malt sweetness. Tart, sour, not overly acidic. Light fruits, and a hint of funk.

Date: March 24, 2012 Mode: Bottle Source: DalzAle tasting Description: Golden yellow pour with nice head. Aroma was sour, fruity, and maybe some oak. Taste was consistent with aroma with some dryness like a champagne.

Tart smell and pours golden yellow with nice white lacing and foam. Tastes a bit fruity quickly heading to tart. A great balance, finishing smooth. A really nice sour beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by ryanfolty! Slightly hazy orange pour, lasting lacing and a nice acidic sour aroma. Flavor is slightly sour blood oranges, some bitter vinegar bite and dry white grapes on the aftertaste. Very nice.

Bottled. Golden coloured. Fluffy off white head. Aroma of earth, light grape, sweetness, some fruits. Flavour of fruits, sweetness, grape, sourness, earth, light barnyard. Medium to full bodied. Has a grapy and citric sourness in the end. Very easy to drink.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of kristina. Pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Tart, farty, Bretty nose with a little fruity sweetness. Medium body, sweet and tart, quite some Bretty horse blanket. The Litchi don’t really come through, but it’s a very pleasant and drinkable Lambic. 230312

Pours bright lemon rind yellow with one finger off white head. Nose is zesty and fruity. Lychee comes through. Dry and barnyardy with a slight lemongrass character. Dry and acidic with a lemon zest quality and light fruity notes. Nice clean acidity.

Thanks emacgee for sharing. Cloudy golden with a bit of white lace. Nose is quite sugary upfront, with some light fruity tartness, salt water, starfruit, lychee. Flavor is similar, just way too sweet to be lambic of any caliber.
