23rd November 2012 THE Fruit Sour tasting. Hazy amber beer, good white head. Light palate, a little dry. Mild carbonation. Bitterish milky backdrop with mildly bitter fruit, mostly lemon and not much lychee at all, if any! Dry crisp finish. Meh! Pretty disappointed by this one. Still waiting for a decent lychee beer.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body with a medium sized and retentive white head. Aromas are funky and musty with medium phenols. Attic, earthy, lychee, medium honey, floral, tart, yogurt. Flavors are of cobwebs, musty funk, earthy, nutty, medium acid, damp leaves. Lively carbonation, medium duration, lighter body. Rough brett funk in the finish. A bit unrefined.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Huhzubendah (2006) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 6, 2012
The beer is transparent and light orange hued with a thick white head that leaves ample lacing on the glass. The aroma is white wine, tart fruit, oak. The flavor brings a puckering sensation with what must be the lychee fruit. Tart and sour, but balanced by a delicate fruit sweetness and a hint of alcohol. Overall, interesting, intriguing, and enjoyable. That said, this is not in the upper echelon of lambics. Recommended.
