Ale brewed with lychee fruit and aged in oak barrels.

“Kristina, one lychee fruit lovin’ sour bitch, has always been a great friend to Mikkeller when we visit Chicago. This beer is made especially for her. A drink for our friend . . . cheers!”

750 ml bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks. Pours a hazy dark gold color with a small white head that soon recedes to a film. The aroma is tart with mixed white fruits, vanilla and some funk. The taste is more tart fruits, green apples, sour grapes, vanilla and oak. The palate is light but effective and the carbonation is medium. I thought the finish fell a bit short and was less than smooth. Overall: A decent sour, I’m grateful for the chance to try it.

Thanks to Sarlacc83 for bringing this to the bottle share - probably a bit too much age on this one, but you never know what will happen. Pours hazy golden orange with an off-white head. The aroma has veggies, much, maltiness, overripe peaches and some sourness that is not the normal type of sourness you’d expect from a sour beer. It has a medium body with a bit of light carbonation. The flavor starts with mush malt, veggies, soured caramel and celery. The finish is a weird malt and sour mix. Can’t all be winners.

Bottle sent by agold. Thanks! Pity this one...was not good. A: Cloudy amber, thick white head. N: Lychee, vegetal nature - particularly spoiled tomatoes, gaprefruit, some wood. T: Lightly sour, more spoiled veggies. M: Light body, carbonation is prickly. O: Absolutely horrible. It gets little better when paired with a salty cheese, and I don’t know if this was just a bad bottle, but gross.

Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Clear dark golden color with a thin white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, citrus and brett. Medium body with flavors or tart citrus, funky yeast and oak. The finish is tart lychee and oak. Pretty good overall.

Bottle bought at Mikkeller & Friends in April 2014. (my Mikkeller rating 300) Hazy amber/orange with a small white head. Pleasant aroma of lychee, oak, brett and some hay. Similar taste. Nicely tart and with a dryish finish. Quite soft and easy to drink.

@ Gyllenbock 14-10-11: en mycket trevlig syrlig doft med en tydlig ton av lychee och fat. Smaken är tydlig syrlig med en sötaktig underton. Gott. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Pours cloudy orange amcer with tall white head. Aroma of green grapes, apples, lychee, bretta, grass and light hay. Taste is fruity sweet up front followed by medium fruit tart, clear barrel notes in there as well. Body is light and "smoothly crisp" with about average carbonation. Nice, very controlled sour ale.

"This is a weird one - not quite up to par for the brewer or the style, but not exactly unenjoyable. Odd woodsie notes, more so than expected, with a light fruit and berry tartness on the nose and palate without ever being as sour as expected. OK, but not for the price (it was high, can’t remember the $ amount)."

Bottle at 2014 Epic Sour tasting, courtesy of me. Hazy golden amber, white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, light grapefruit, pineapple. Taste is softly sour and fruity suntan oil, in a good way. Delicious.
