Bottle: Poured a clear reddish color ale with a small bubbly head with no retention and no lacing. Aroma of tart cherries and oak notes is quite sour with light funky notes. Taste is also a mix between some tart cherries with light oak and some barnyard notes. Acidity level is well balanced with low carbonation. Well balanced mix between some sour cherry notes is quite interesting but not as complex as I had anticipated.

Bottle, courtesy of Meilby. It looks quite ugly in the glass, with an unclear, reddish dark golden body and a minimal off-white head. Just a ring ouf bubbles actually. Cherries on the nose, with some oak, vanilla, maltyness and a good dash of vinegar. Its mouthfeel is of course acidic and puckering, but also sort of like drinking whip cream. Lots of cherry and vinegar both initially and in the end. Well, I like the aroma and flavor, but it still isn’t very nice. 110524

Nip bottle poured a clear reddish ambe with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of sour pie cherries, spice and straw. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour pie cherries, biscuit and spice with a crisp dry lingering tart cherry finish.

larsga (5967) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2011
Small white head. Hazy bright red body. Intense lacquer, cherries, and wood aroma with metallic notes. Dry-sweet-acidic toffee marzipan cherry taste with floral notes. Mid-bodied. Sharply acidic and astringent mouthfeel, so strong it burns. Dry waxy floral cherry aftertaste with metallic earthy notes. Extreme, but somehow nice. A bit much acid, though. (0.25l bottle from some shop in Copenhagen. I forget which.)

Bottle shared by Max. Pours initially a violet reddish clear, then hazes towards the bottom from the sediment- thin fizzy dissipating head. Aroma is nice sour cherry, cherry juice, light aceto-flemish red kick but still very pleasant, slight sweet tart candy, light fruity brett kick, and hints of old wood. Flavor is light caramel malt covered with sour cherry, cherry juice cherry pit, Flemish red mixed with kriek, medium to light sweet cherry in the middle, turns slightly bitter and woody in the end with a medium to light tartness. Pretty good, but not great.

(Bottle, 0.25 l, from Kihoskh, 20110417) The beer poured red and quite clear. Its head was very small and pinkish. Aroma had cherries, wood, sourness, cherry stones and mildly solvent. Palate was medium bodied, warming and quite dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, cherries, sugary sweetness, wood and hint of bitterness. Aftertaste had sourness and cherries. I would have liked this better if the beer had had less alcohol, Now the burning hid some of the pleasant flavours.

Bottled. Hazy murky rubyish brown colour, not that much head. Aroma is cherries, cherry stones and some nuttyness. Flavour is sweeetish sour cherries, almond as well as mild acidic and berryish notes.
