3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by John Sukroo at Ale Alpharetta. Hazy orange, with no real head. Harsh orange peels, light funk, and horseblankets. Very dry, a little funky. Medium, hard, and salty. This is a mellow, very dry and funky beer. Not much complexity, but not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy, nigh opaque apricot with an eggshell head. Sour fruit dominates he aroma while letting hints of malt and yeast to peek through. Flavor is quite sour, fruity with a woody underpinning and subtle malt notes. Texture has good body and plenty of fizz. More tart than sour, may be a good beer to introduce the uninitiated to sours.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo under the name Udagawa Spontan. Nice big gooseberry aromas with some young strawberry and grape as well. Quite tart on the palate, but not enamel-melting by any means. Creamy mouthfeel. Good tartness that lingers on the finish. Quite enjoyable. Very nice gueuze for the price.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2015 Benchmark aroma in an alluring sparkling golden-amber pour. Taste is benchmark too - far and away the best sour I’ve had all week. Will be spending time/money trying the fruit flavoured variations now...stay tuned.
