On tap at Mikkeller Tap Takeover, King William IV, Leyton, Friday 16th August 2013 Pours deep dark red plummy colour into the dimpled pint glass (they’d run out of usual glasses) sour fruity beer with fresh berries leaping out, gives the tongue and rest of mouth a damn good wirk out. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Having tried the S-kriek and the S-grape before, I got my expectations up in the clouds going into this. Pouring this beer is half the pleasure since its oh so beautiful! The colour is coral/red/violet (crush some black currants in your palm and compare the colour to this brew). Nose is typical spontan-beer aroma with raw fruit and acidity, and just behind this barrier, the cassis creeps up on you, awesome! Light, white head. Nice contrast to the reddish colour of the beer. On first taste, the acidity and dryness stands out, but a couple of more focused sips brings out subtle notes of pre-ripe black currant. Next time I’ll let it warm up a bit more to fully bring out the aroma and flavours. Overall, great beer, allthough somewhat too sour for the cassis to fully develop. Usage; cassis-sorbet and some of this brew might be the bomb! :-)

Lilaröd öl med rosarött lätt skum. Doft av bär och lätt vinägersyrlighet. Mycket bärig även i smaken. Vinbär, hallon, björnbär. Ganska söt med bara lätt syrlighet.

Draught at Söder om Småland, Malmö
Murky red color with small pink head. Nice aroma, cassis, lean, not syrupy, light vinegar and light raspberries. The mouthfeel is dry, the acidity is moderate; it has a mild flavor of red berries, but also some astringency that is a bit disturbing (hard tannins, together with some bitterness), very little funkiness, and almost no traits in common with a Lambic (if that was the target).
Pleasant but not exciting.

Draft at ChurchKey. Pours a rich red plum colored pour, small head. Nose and flavor bring some good dark fruit character, tart currant, light vinous notes, bits of wood. Definitely some balsamic and red wine vinegar acetic aspects in there as well. Nice, but nothing outrageous.
