37.5 cl bottle. Pours dark red with a huge pink head. Aroma is smooth fruity, mild barnyard and acidic. Sharp acidic yet also quite fruity. Citric and mild fruity into a slight citric finish. Citric and lingering fruity. Quite filling fruity and smooth.

Unclear bright neon red with a pinkish head. Black currant jelly candy and black Basset’s winegums. Rather sour and with a bitterness that clashes a bit with the sourness.

[bottle at BrewDog Bar, Edinburgh] Sampled alongside the Spontanredcurrant – this one was more palatable, in my opinion. The sourness was there, of course – but so too is a more noticeable fruit edge. The blackcurrant notes help tone down the screaming tartness, and leave a more rounded finish [13072011]

Shared this bottle with Craig at the Brewdog Bar, Edinburgh. A lovely ruby red colour with a thin pink head. Tart aroma of cherry and blackcurrant. Lemony sour Ribena. Some balsamic vinegar and a great lingering sourness. Brilliant!

bottle at brewdog bar ... deep red ... bubbly pink head ... funky barnyard sour ... soft fruit ... tart dry fruits ... blackberry ... almost cherry ...

Thick head, pink, whipped eggwhite consistency, stable, over totally cloudy burgundy to magenta beer. Overpowering Bretts/lambic/barnyard aromas, very convincing, and with fruity notes - I get blackcurrant icecream, but if that is foreknowledge or discriminating nose... Quite sourish - fruits, with again an icecream touch, fruit being clear blackcurrant, certainly in the finish. Some wholemeal cookies flavour, with blackcurrant stuffing, lemonjuice-covered. Better (fruit-)bodied than usual, very refreshing, well-carbonated. Very good lambic-type beer, but I would love to see the fruitiness yet more accentuated.

38cl, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2011, with cassis, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sour fruit brew, balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew, yet expensive!

This was absolutely great! Full-on blackcurrent dark in colour with a frothy, fruity head that hangs around. The smell is fruity, candied and promising of big sourness to come. All this is beautifully controlled. The taste reveals the lambic sourness and just as many dark fruit-flavors as the colour suggest. There’s a drying effect in the aftertaste which is probably the bret speaking. This is probably too good to share and it’s not your typical sweet cassis. This one has big sour balls.

Bottle, 37,5 cl. Pours deep red with a nice pink head. Aroma has lots of tartness, horse blanket, barnyard, lemon sourness, brett, berries but not necessarily black currant, more fresh and tart berriness. Taste has a nice tartness with barnyard, brett, lemon and green apples backed up by a nice fruity sweetness with black currants and raspberries and notes of leather and a bit of oaky dryness. Delicious.

Bottle at home. Dark red coloured with a medium sized pink head. Fruity and light acidic aroma of barnyard and berries. Fruity and light acidic flavour of unriped berries and barnyard with notes of oak. Tart fnish of berries. Well made, but I don’t like black currants.
