Bottle. Pours murky dark red color with a frothy pink head. Aroma is of blackcurrant, cherries, vinegar, funk, tartness and some subtle sweetness too. The flavor is very tart, with lots blackcurrant up front, which fades in to a cherry note, turning in to more of a general berry flavor in the back end. I also get, vinegar, funk like barnyard notes, wet hay and some subtle sweetness. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overalla really nice Fruit Lambic, this is sour complex Ribena..lol.

Pours strawberry Jello 1-2-3 into a snifter. Bright pink head recedes at a medium pace leaving spot lacing. Sour cassis, boysenberry and mild funk aromas. Sharp, dry grapefruit front to back. Mild cassis in the dry and tart lasting finish.

Bottle @ Brewdog Bar. Pours a creamy beetroot colour with a little lacing on the top. The nose seems creamy and tangy at first and then blackberry comes which is strange since I thought cassis was blackcurrant. The taste is yeasty with a tangy berry note cutting through it. The palate has a classic sour ale structure and texture - tight and very long which is of course clean on the finish. Overall, this is really well executed.

375 ml bottle from Kihoskh. Dark cassis, hazy liquid with small-medium pink head. Aroma is funky with notes of apples, barnyard, cassis. Sour. Taste is sour, tart, dry and not bitter or sweet. Quite a lot of cassis taste. Light to medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall, quite nice. Very balanced.

24-AUG-2011, bottle @home, from "Ølbutikken". Pours murky red with pink head. Beautiful. Looks like a mouthful - like a high density brew. Nose is cassis. Lovely cassis with some gun smoke and vinegar. Taste is again sweet cassis with vinegar. Long tart mouthfeel that starts quite full like expected, but ends watery and dry. Fantastic drink

Bottle, 375ml corked. It pours a more or less clear body, dark cherry red in color and with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is more cherry-ish than blackcurrant-ish, with funk and some lemony notes. Cherry, or at least berries, lemon and funkyness on the flavor, tart and medium bodied. As other Spontan’s from Mikkeller, it’s too carbonated. A nice one indeed. 110820
