Poured into a taster showing black cherry translucent rims with a lovely black cherry center. Sparse white foam around the edges. Aroma shows a lot of lambic funk with some steel tank notes. Light bodied and very lightly carbonated, a clear vanilla background shows throughout the beer; clearly a sign of the chardonnay barrels. There’s also big notes of butter (malolactic fermentation?). The cherry kriek flavors take a background in this one but it otherwise works very well the barrel aging. But the cherry flavors are juicy and sweet. All around a really nice treat and would love to have again.

Bottled in 1516 brewpub Moscow. Deep cherry red colour kinda similar to blood maybe:) Soar cherry aroma. Taste is clear and fresh elegant soarness of sweet cherries with awesome balance of medium high body. Superb beer.

hackobock (2167) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 20, 2015
February 20, 2015. Bottle at home, best before august 21, 2022.
Purple with a creamy pink head. Aroma is sweet fruity and tart cherries, light yoghurt and vanilla. A bit less yoghurt than the non-wine barrel aged one. Taste is medium sweet juicy cherries up front, light tart cherries, light dry tart finish with sweet berry notes. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation. Quite similar to the Malaga version, seems like the difference in wine barrel didn’t affect the beer so much.
