Cherry aroma, kind of juicy but pretty good. Some lambic going on but more of a cherry fruit thing happening. Finishes pretty dry with some medium carbonation.

Pours deep red with a pink head. Aroma of marzipan, juicy cherries, oak, vanilla and vinous red wine notes. The taste is sweet, oaky and vinous with the notes from the aroma as well. Nice and complex beer.

A 375ml bottle with a best before date of 21st August 2022 and poured into a snifter glass. The beer poured a clear deep ruby colour with a one finger pinkish (like beetroot) head that dissipated quickly into an extremely thing layer with nice lacing. Aromas mainly of tart cherry, dark berries and almond. Taste is similar to the aroma with tart cherry and dark berries dominating while the finish becomes even more sour and gives rise to citrus pomelo. Medium bodied with light to medium carbonation. Overall, I loved it. The tart cherries and the sourness were balanced and is just another must buy beer for me.

01-MAY-2015, bottle @yellow session @CBC15. Had this following the "un-barreled". This is much more cherry-wine-like. None of the marzipan stuff but bright clean cherries. Fantastic:-)

Bottle enjoyed at Mikkeller and Friends in Reykjavik. Clear deep garnet pour with a pinkish head. Sweet cherry and vinous aromas. Sweet cherries give way to sour vinous notes with oak and vanilla undercurrents. Complex and delicious. My favorite of the Spontan series. Good body and mouthfeel.
