4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 ml bottle purchased at Dave’s Bellport Cold Beer and Soda. Pours a deep red with a fizzy pink head that quickly dissipates. Very pleasant aroma that is fulled with sour cherry along with some oakiness lurking in the background. The flavor is lovely with ample sour cherry, bright and tart, again with some background oak and just a bit of vanilla. Tart and bright on the palate. Quite enjoyable.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pour from a bottle is a nice opaque reddish black with a red head. The aroma is a subtle sweetness. When it hits your tongue you immediately taste the sweet cherries and then goes into the sour with a slight oak flavor. Leaves a tart after taste.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A dark red wine color with a little bit of white head around the rim. Smells of sour cherry, red wine, vanilla, honey. Taste is a medium cherry sour, some vanilla, red wine flavors, dry wine finish, a little bit of grape juice taste. A tiny bit of hop bitter at the end. Refreshing and tolerable sourness that has enough sweetness and a dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2013 bottle. Pours a deep cranberry red with a fizzy cranberry pink head. Aroma is cherry with a slight buttery/waxey smell that I think may be from the oak. Taste is tart/sour pie cherry with a little vanilla. Slightly sweet and a dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught 2012 ed. @ Mikropolis. Pours opaque dark red with a small pink head. Aroma is very fruity, almond, cherries, cherry-stones, oak and hints of brett. Taste is light+ sweet, bitter and light tart. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Finishes dense cherry fruity, dry and almond bitter. I’d prefer this to be tarter to achieve freshness and greater drinkability. Aging might correct this.. Time will tell.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a beautiful dark ruby red body under a fizzy effervescent pink-tinged head that faded quickly to a thin ring. The aroma is really intense on the cherry with lighter notes of oak and sour funkiness. The flavor is equally intense with the cherries. I can’t imagine how many cherries went into a barrel of this in order to make it so crazy intense. It’s like drinking sour cherry pie filling. Just a slight tartness from the yeast, the sour notes seem to come directly from the cherries. Just lightly acidic, just enough to make the cherries brighten up a bit and shine. A light oaky tannic note late on the finish. Medium bodied, really walking the line between sweet and sour. Nice fizzy pinpoint carbonation. Pretty nice beer, most of these Milkeller beers in this series that I’ve had are really pretty tasty.
