Dark tons of red hues. Great bottle. Nose is a burst of huge cherries. Like cherry pie just sweet and tart and very dessert like I get some musty basement funk. This is very similar to intense red by 3f. Just an explosion of raw cherry like a salad. Not tart at all

Pours deep ruby into a tulip. Off-white head with little retention recedes to nothing. Dark cherry and red grape aromas. Soft with tart cherry and tanins upfront turning to earthy grape skin in the lasting finish.

Bottled. Pours red with a small pink head. Aroma of cherre vinegar and brett notes.Sweet flavor that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied, watery to oily text. and soft carb. A nice fruit lambic.

Bottle fairly fresh from my recent Oregon trip.

Pours deep ruby, almost pushing purple, with a sizable though short-lived rose head. Really pretty beer. What the heck, I’ll give it 5. The nose begins with a warm mild funk, leather and horseblanket, a fresh (and buttered) whole-wheat bread aroma, turning later to rich cherry pie. Easy to visualize the cherry harvest as one breathes in. Flavor is sour, of course, but not all that sour -- this is a pretty mild lambic, moderately funky, plenty of cherry of course with dry tannic cherry pits / brett leather in the medium-length finish and residual almond sweetness very late in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for the 8.2%, I would have thought more like 5.5. I’m enjoying this a lot but it’s not an epiphany the way the really top-notch kriek can be. It is quite accessible, though, and would be a good way to gently introduce someone to an authentic but not overly taxing fruit lambic. Following it up with a Hanssens oude kriek really hammers that point home. This I’d give to my mom. Hanssens I’d give to Bruce Willis.

So all in all, quite a nice beer. But with a price in the mid teens I’d be inclined not to buy one again, at least not until I lose all hope that the shelf loons may someday return to Washington state. 8/5/8/3/15=3.9

Afternote: This one got better and better as I got further and further into the bottle, and after I’m finished nothing else but another bottle seems good enough. Sadly I don’t got one. Bump to 4.1 for getting so much better as it goes. Maybe worth the price after all.

Bright Maraschino juice colored pour with a small cotton candy head. Nice combination of tart cherry skin, sweet ripe flesh, and apple pie filling. Sour but not puckering. Some graham cracker and cinnamon. Loads of Rainier cherries, plum, and raisin. Really tasty!

Bottle. Pours a deep hazy cherry red body with a medium creamy light pink head. Nose is mild, yet tart cherries, almonds, cherry pits and hints of horsey hay tones. Taste is clear cherry flavors, pits, almond touches, tartaric acid and mild hints of oak and brett - this is understated though, and this is much more a fruit beer than a classic tart/bretty kriek. Medium body and carbonation. Very tasty in its lavish fruity flavor profile.

bottle from mikkeller shop. dark red, deep dark red head. atrong thick cherry aroma, sweet non-fresh cherries. faint tartness below that. flavor is very sour, lots of tartness, also very fresh unripe cherry flavor in there, lots of cherry flavor. There must be tons of cherry in this one for it to taste this way. The alc. gets a little bit in the way, i can sense the alcohol taste a little too much.
