Draft. Purple pour and head. This is my favorite that I recently have been able to try of the spontan series. The black currant is rich and gives off a tart but tomatoey flavor, the sourness level is high but not too much.

Tap at the jeffrey looks like carbonated beet juice in a glass. Nose is wood and black currants. Super fruity palate of black currant and other berry, you also get wood, some lemon and high acid. Very tart palate. Lingering fruity finish. Very tasty.

Rune (9079) - Tromsø, NORWAY - APR 18, 2015
200ml draught, Mikkeller take over at Café Sara. A dark red bubbly ring on the surface, poor lacing. Deep purple red coloured body. Tart and sweet aroma of berries, mid-dry. Blended taste of raspberry and black currant with solid underlying tartness. Prolonged ending. Well bodied. Nice but heavy to drink. Slow sipper (Oslo 15.04.015).

Pours hazy red into a tulip. Pink head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Funky fruit aromas. Sharp with sweet currants upfront turning quite dry and tart in the lasting sour currant and oak finish.

September 5, 2014. On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. Pours hazy purple with a small off-white pinkish head. Aroma is lots of sweet and tart black currant, light funky barnyard and hay notes in the background. Taste is medium tart with a light sweetness. Finish is medium tart black currant. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Smell of very very potent blackcurrant, smells like concentrated blackcurrant juice, like Ribena, but instead of sweetness a slight tart touch. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, and yet again goes back to the juice concentrate thing, big negative. Taste is straight forward blackcurrant juice, with a bit of tartness, what I find in all the Mikkeller SpontanSeries is that the only sour ale quality is a tartness, and never any funk or yeast interesting quality, this is a straight forward blackcurrant juice with a bit of acidity.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Dark red coloured with a small pink head. Fruity and light acidic aroma of blackcurrants with notes of blackcurrant juice. Light acidic flavour of black currants and blackcurrant juice. Tart finish.

Tap at Mikkeller BKK. Goddamn, this one was the shit. Nice and curranted out nose, funked out to bits. Carbonation levels are perfect. Puckering levels are perfect. Touches of barnyard funk, currant fruit, and brett bubbling up at you in the finish. GREAT brew right here.

Enegaard (68) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2013
Dark red, could almost look like a stout if you didn’t have a sense of smell to hint you that this is one of the fruitiest things you can get! Super, super fruity, almost smells like the english fruit drink "Ribena". Taste is intensely sour and you get every aspect of the black currants; the sweetness, sourness and tart bitterness. Very drinkable, almost too much so.
