Tap at Mikkeller and Friends in at the cage in Shimokita. Nice musty nose with grape, plum raisin and a bit of vanilla. Good tartness, and dry on the palate. More raisin and currant notes. Dry finish with good tartness and fruit. Super way to start the day!

Deep purple color. Massively sour nose with lots of black cherries. Super concentrated, super sour, super rich, over the top but heavenly sour beer. Feels more like 12% than 7.7%. Superb

hazy purple, pink ring head. Heavy grape juice nose, sugary with plenty of citrus and soft lactic acid. Ultra tart front palate is dry, plenty of fruit skin early before a light plastic mid, incredibly juicy and no burning, none of the usual spontanflaws. Finishes tart, tongue curled, moderate body boosted by perfect effervescence. Probably the best of the series.

Draught at Mikkeller & Friends. Deep, deep red colour bordering black with a thin, pink head. Tart aroma with blackcurrant, oak, wooden notes and bretts. Taste is sour. Medium to full body with a creamy to oily texture. Soft carbonation. Lasting, acidic finish with blackcurrant. Lovely fruit beer.

Draft. Purple pour and head. This is my favorite that I recently have been able to try of the spontan series. The black currant is rich and gives off a tart but tomatoey flavor, the sourness level is high but not too much.

Tap at the jeffrey looks like carbonated beet juice in a glass. Nose is wood and black currants. Super fruity palate of black currant and other berry, you also get wood, some lemon and high acid. Very tart palate. Lingering fruity finish. Very tasty.

200ml draught, Mikkeller take over at Café Sara. A dark red bubbly ring on the surface, poor lacing. Deep purple red coloured body. Tart and sweet aroma of berries, mid-dry. Blended taste of raspberry and black currant with solid underlying tartness. Prolonged ending. Well bodied. Nice but heavy to drink. Slow sipper (Oslo 15.04.015).

Pours hazy red into a tulip. Pink head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Funky fruit aromas. Sharp with sweet currants upfront turning quite dry and tart in the lasting sour currant and oak finish.

September 5, 2014. On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. Pours hazy purple with a small off-white pinkish head. Aroma is lots of sweet and tart black currant, light funky barnyard and hay notes in the background. Taste is medium tart with a light sweetness. Finish is medium tart black currant. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Smell of very very potent blackcurrant, smells like concentrated blackcurrant juice, like Ribena, but instead of sweetness a slight tart touch. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, and yet again goes back to the juice concentrate thing, big negative. Taste is straight forward blackcurrant juice, with a bit of tartness, what I find in all the Mikkeller SpontanSeries is that the only sour ale quality is a tartness, and never any funk or yeast interesting quality, this is a straight forward blackcurrant juice with a bit of acidity.
