Draft, 18 month old keg. Pours an impressive deep, deep purple and by look and smell it seems to be aggressively asserting how many blueberries went into making this behemoth. The taste is big, with a blueberry taste so pungent that it almost tastes like puree, and a sourness so aggressive that it pushes into the vinegar side of things. Very interesting and very much worth a try, but not at all "balanced".

375ml bottle from Oak Barrel, Sydney. Red wine-like body beneath a transient reddish-pink head. Nose offers woody Cabernet Sauvignon, dark berries, barnyard funk and lemony citrus. Palate is fruity, vinous and lively before a mouth-puckering Cantillon-like dry sourness to the finish. Excellent stuff from Mikkeller on a par with an authentic Belgian lambic fruit beer.

375cl@OBE2015 thanks ElviraS! Sour, malty, dry, mouth numbing even. Aroma of blueberries and and as it should be - of lambic beer. Sour and tangy all the way.

On tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Dark purple appearance with small, quickly dissipating, light purple head. Very vinous, red wine-like aroma with notes of blueberries, grape skin and light funky yeast. Similar flavor, mildly sour with a light to mild fruity sweetness and a lightly astringent finish. An interesting lambic than became more enticing as it warmed.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2015 Another nice looking deep purple brew. More fruit forward than the others. Sweet and tart, still with vinegar and oak. The heavy fruit flavor and aroma makes this a favorite though.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured a purplish color with a smaller sized pink head. Berries / blue berries, funky, and fruity. Enjoyed more as it warmed and opened up.

Draft at iron abbey. Pours deep purple with no head. The aroma has big blueberry, a bit lactic but not overpowering. The taste has big tart blueberry, a bit funky, fairly dry finish. Nicely done.
