On tap at Beer Temple. Almost opaque pinkish-red colour, almost no head. Aroma of the imho typical raspberry-battery-acid smell, quite tart, light funky, medium-sweet. Flavour is tart, raspberries, medium-sweet and fruity, strawberries, firm sour finish with lemon. Light to medium-bodied. Nice.

Pours semi-transparent ruby red with a thick pink head. The nose is big strawberry, raspberry, barnyard funk, leather and old cheese. The taste is high sweet, medium bitter and tart. Nice and complex. The texture is crisp and clean, light body and a long finish. Finally a wild ale from Mikkeller that I really like.

Nice enough looking beer. Pours bright maroon with a smallish off-white head. Pretty clear on the initial pour. A little bit of lacing. Somewhat deeper maroon on my second pour. Wonderful raspberry aroma. It’s just bursting with juicy berries. Very jammy. Some green apple, vinegar, funk, but it’s dominated by that raspberry jam. The taste doesn’t quite live up to the aroma, but it’s still very nice. It’s medium sour and quite dry. There’s a fair bit of tannic bitterness. It’s a bit like berry skins mixed with under ripe berries. Just not quite juicy/jammy enough. Gets better as it warms. Mouthfeel is fairly light for the abv. The tannic bitter flavor makes things a bit funny, but it’s not over the top. This was a lot better than expected. I approached this beer with some trepidation, but this is a very well done raspberry sour. It’s fairly expensive, but it’s a really nice legitimately lambic-ish raspberry sour, and that justifies the price for me.

Gusher. Pours a ripe red color with a pinkish finger of foam... The nose is complex with nice wet wood barrel, cured meat, fresh raspberry and a healthy dose of basement funk. The palate is focused and balanced. Nice raspberry, cranberry and a slight dose of cider vinegar mingle with funky cheese and dusty wood. Nice beer.

375ml bottle. Pours deep ruby red with thin pinkish head. Aroma is overwhelmingly raspberries, even from a few feet away. Smells like standing in a field of raspberry bushes. Lovely smell to this beer. Taste is tart raspberries, oak, tannin and citrus. Slight sweet elements but a terrific tartness and a well balanced finish. Really enjoying this beer....

Bottle at NK Bar. Cloudy red colour with a small white head. Fruity, acidic aroma of raspberries. Flavour is sweet, sour, berries, heavy on raspberries but also other berries.

375 ml bottle from Binnys Marcey (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deep reddish hue, reddish pink glow, good haziness throughout. A touch darker in the middle. Rich raspberry hues. Frothy whitish pink head atop laces small, rings a bit. Aromas are good tannic seedy raspberries. Fruity, juicy, good sour pump into this one. Some gentle oak, lemons, lactic acid. A nice bite, bigger sour raspberries and lactic acid. Mellow bretty funk, oaky tannins, some good sourness and a touch of acidity, mellow vinegar, and fruit girth. Funky, oak, gentle sweetness. Nice berries. Initial is nice big puckering sourness, big raspberry. Seedy, pulpy, and fruity. Sour twang hits firmly as we move in. Lactic, sour raspberry, sour lemony sourness, lactic elements are firm and coat the palate. Yogurt, straw, good cobwebs, mellow oak grows. Middle is sour, berry ridden. Never gets sweet or any sort of medicinal feel, the fruit really integrates well here, drives the experience. Seedy, firm to strong sourness as we move into the backend. Big lactic elements, straw and bretty elements as we finish up. Big tangy sourness kinda stays with this. Juicy, sour, good richer flavors. Lighter body but quite drinkable for me. Really well put together. Much better than Kriek, on par with the Cranberry and Redcurrant deyholla shared. A touch more body and substance than Cranberry. Really damn nice fruit lambic.

Bottle. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average frothy tan head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex tart sour aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sour tart flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration. Sour refreshing brew.

A steady pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a two finger thick, pink tinged head, that leaves a touch of lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer smells strongly of raspberries, seed, skins, pulp and all. This is backed by a tartness that is light behind the raspberry sourness and there is perhaps a touch of mustiness here as well, and perhaps a touch of straw like grain character.

Quite dry, definitely quite tart (almost puckeringly so), the raspberry flavors are quite apparent, though not quite as prominent as they are in the nose. The finish has a hay like, and even cracker like grain / malt character to it, and there is also a certain bitterness / astringency here (raspberry seeds and oak perhaps). Fairly light bodied, definitely quite quaffable, but there is a certain viscosity here that is made up of raspberries and lactic acid slickness.

The raspberry character is very rich and dense, somehow jam-like despite the lightness and dryness of the beer. This beer is certainly not the most complex beer in the world; it is mostly raspberry, with just enough other things going on to not seem overly one-dimensional. Actually fairly enjoyable

1900th rate! 375ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark pink with a thin head. Aroma is sour and cheesy, with some tart raspberry seeds underneath. Taste has tart raspberry to start with a sour, cheesy finish.
