Reddish colored pour. Small white head with minimal lacing. Funky aroma with hints of fruit and brett. Taste is the same with huge funky sourness. Very good.

Some head lasting a little, mature red burgundy colored. Nice! Nose with framboise, sweet and fruity. Medium body and some length. quite "tight" with notes of raspberries and surprisingly little sourness. Very drinkable but also some troublesome astringency.

Bottle courtesy of Jesse. Thanks! Cloudy dark reddish brown with a fizzy white head. Huge raspberry, grains of paradise, Belgian yeast, and doughy aroma. Thick creamy palate. Sweet raspberry and chocolate taste up front immediately followed by a tart sourness and lemon taste, and ending with light pepper notes and a tart fruity and dry oaky finish. Not usually my favorite style, but this is damn good.

Pour big thanks to renee for the pour! Dark red, very hazy, nice foamy white head, aroma has notes of big funky horse, cheese, some nice big fruity raspberry, nice berry stem, raspberry seeds, some slight lemon and slight vanilla notes. Taste is a nice mix of big tart and fruity raspberry, some hints of lemon, vanilla, nice funky basement, horse and slight cheesy notes, finishing nice and sour, slightly funky. Excellent.

Neat pink-reddish color in the glass, Aroma of raspberries, much less sour than the Kriek. Much fruit flavor, the sour note is much more restrained than the Kriek. Only in the finish comes with a strong acidity, but does not last long.

So to start things off right, this is my first real lambic, and I’m gonna get addicted really fast. Sample pour. Nice tartness. Color is a rich reddish amber with the faintest haze to it. Head was about two fingers which didn’t hold long and dissipated into a halo. Flavors were tart, raspberry of course, lemon peel/citrus, slight funkiness to it. Really an enjoyable beer, especially for just starting to drink lambics.

In short: A funky, acidic and intensely raspberry beer. Simple and very enjoyable.
How: Bottle 375ml. Consumed more than 8 years before expiration date!!!
The look: Cloudy light-copper body topped by a small beige head
In long: The intense nose is exactly what you’d expect from the name and style, plenty of raspberries with also a good amount of funk and barnyard. Taste is pretty much the same. Plenty of fresh raspberries, nice funk, very citric lemons, bitter grapefruits, dusty attic. This is a very straightforward beer but I’m not complaining, a New Belgium Raspberry Tart is also a very straightforward beer. In fact this beer almost like some kind of New Belgium Raspberry Tart, and that cannot be a bad thing. I really loved that beer and can’t wait to try it again. Quite possible that the next time I have it I won’t find it so great and I will re-rate, I’ve re-written so many of my ratings that I know I should never get a tattoo.
