4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 37,5 cl, BBE 2023. Pours slightly unclear golden in color with an off-
white head. Barnyard, tart garden rhubarby notes, light notes of rubber and lots
of funky and dry wooden stable notes in aroma. Sour garden fruits, funky notes,
hints of sweet and sour berries and some wheat in taste. Incredibly tasty, one
of the better from the Mikkeller spontan-series. Refreshing for sure with some
soft sweet lemony juicyness and biting sour white grape fruityness in

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours pale yellow-gold. Itís a bit hazy in the light. Smallish white head. Some bubbliness puffed up initially but it mostly died away. Looks nice enough in a Mikkeller Bar SF glass. Aroma shows off a fair bit of mostly lactic sourness. Thereís some decent funk in the mix and a touch of sulphur. I think I actually have tried them before, but I donít really know quite how gooseberries smell or taste. There is a sweet and sour berry-ish note, fairly mild. Itís sort of grape-ier than Iíd expect from a berry. Nice addition, though. The taste is quite sour. Some nice yogurty pucker. However, itís not really dominated by lactic acidity. Thereís good funk complexity knocking around, and the fruit comes across with more of that sour blueberry/raspberry-sour grape flavor. Itís medium dry with some mildly tannic oakiness. Light and refreshing on the palate. No booze. Medium to light carbonation. This is a very good sour, probably the second best of what Iíve tried from the Spontan series and one of the better Mikkeller beers. And that said, this beer mops the floor with a lot of hyped American sours. I would still like to see more 5-6% abv beers in the series, but it seems like these 7.7% ones are getting better.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 12/8/13 from a capped 375mL bottle purchased at Louisville Beer Store. Pours hazy golden with an average white head that slowly recedes to thin but even lace. The nose is more tart than sour with some light bread malt, and a fruity white wine vinegar. The flavor is the same, not terribly sour, but nicely tart with some white wine vinegar and the tart bite of gooseberry. The body is light with average carbonation and a long tart, vinous finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Brewdog online. Aroma is ultra sharp acid, grapefruit and big funk, horse and slight eggy sulphur. Onion skin colour with a fleetingthin white head. Flavour is a lot more approachable than the in your face aroma would have you believe. Sweet and sour, funk, grape skin tanin in the finish. Medium body and carbonation with a drying tanic finish. Nice. Not as sour as i had feared.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma like a cuvee rene. Funky barnyards and hay with some oily leather. Pours to a straw colored body with a fizzy white head. The flavor is funky like a geueze. Hay and old hops with sour tangy gooseberries. Honestly, this is so geueze like... funky dry effervescent palate.

Gedronken met dutchrebus. Mistige gouden kleur met een kleine witte schuimkraag. Ruikt zoetzuur, fruitig. Smaakt fruitig, lemoen, zuur en niet muf. Genieten.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
3xcl bottle. 2013 brew. Surprisingly interesting lambic. Plenty of yeast, full solid body, rather oily texture. Beer should be matured for several years. I would say that it was too astringent (possibly due to a lot of raw gooseberries used, and the type of berries themselves).

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 375ml, PBF
Slightly hazy yellow-golden color, small white head. Fruity, gooseberry nose. Very tart, fruity, it is like raw gooseberry berries I liked to eat when I was young. Simple but likeable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ benzai shared by me. Slightly unclear yellow colour to orange colour with a small to medium white head that doesnít last long. Smells slightly dusty, sourish. Ideal smell for a beer in this style. Tastes sour, fruity, lemon, lime, fresh. Great sour beer! If I was drinking this without seeing the bottle I wouldíve guessed it was a Cantillon. Amazing balance, soft carbo, medium body. Love it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ home shared by Dutchdrebus. Slightly unclear orange color, small white head. Aroma is decently fruity and lightly sour fruits, lightly musty. Taste sour grapes, unripe orange, lemon, I guess gooseberry, sourish unripe fruits. Good balance, medium body, less dry than I had expected, suitable carbonation. Very nice!
