3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle and served in tulip while doing some light reading of Wild Brews:
Nowhere does it include goose berries as a popular addition to sour’d ales. ;-) Really this is more about the Brettanomyces and Pediococcus than the fruit. Solid enough pils and wheat backbone. Problem is the presence of 4-ethyl-phenol (aka Band-Aid) which lingers on far too long and is an issue with many Mikkeller sours. This could mature and smooth the rough edges but I wouldn’t hold out hope.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Picked one up in Chicago. Pours a bright yellow orange color that looks very quenching. A foamy white layer is left on too with heavy bubbles. A big vinegar tart aroma that is very funky. A very funky taste right away. Very nice mouthfeel that is quenching and tart. It’s very gueuze like. Very tasty. And definitely left me wanting more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
[ Tap ][ 4oz ][ @Paradiso Georgetown ][ $4 ][ mini pint ][ 8/23/14 ]
Hazy gold, puffy white head laces well, drops quick, oily cap. Grainy, earthy nose, faintly green/juniper with light acidity. Heavy berry front palate, light plastic in the sticky mid with citric acid all over, Cantillon level leather and stable through the fizzy, bitter Iris like end. Berry well integrated with lambic elements, expressive and rounded with few flaws.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Gooseberries added a unique flavir and light tartness to an otherwise similar-to-the-others spotan-ale. Yellow/orange color, similar feel to the others, good balance, but otherwise too expensive :)"
