12.7oz bottle in a sampler. Pours amber/pink with a pink head. Aroma of cherries, a little vinegar, light malts, and some fruits and sourness. Flavor about the same with a weird fruity note. Average texture for the style. A decent beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep deep ruby red with smallish pink coloured head. Aromas of very sweet cherrys and some sourness. Cherry vinegar type flavours. Not overly complex but good drinking all the same.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A bright hazy red coloured beer that explodes with a pink foamy head from the bottle. It has sweet cherry flavours followed by sharp tartness and creamy cherry cheesecake and black cherry yoghurt flavours on the finish.

Very nice tart kriek, slightly bitter, but really nice for the hit and miss nature of mikkler. I was happy to find this at the pretrero hill whole foods.

Pours deep ruby into a snifter. White head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Sour cherry aromas. Sour with stale cherry and mild cherry vinegar. Lasting chalky finish.

375 ml bottle from Binnys SL (Chicago, IL). Cracked on a nice Friday evening. Pours a gorgeous glowing reddish pink hue, dark with just a kiss of haze, rich reddish and pink glow, berry crimson elements are quite striking. A frothy offwhite with a touch of pinkish hue head atop dies to a good filmy layer, laces well. Aromas are distinct cherries, a bit of vinegar. Tart and tannic skin with a bit of oak, straw, lactic acid. Lemony, a bit more funky than it’s counterparts. A touch of Luden’s as it settles. Straw, funk, and mellow soft malts. Initial is lighter end of the fold, firm cherries, cherry skin and fruit. Tartness, a but of red wine vinegar. Gentle sweetness, pie cherries, and a touch of Luden’s cough drops. Gentle sweetness, pie cherries, bready malts, straw and dryness into the middle. Oak, funk, lactic qualities as we work our way into the back. Dry and lactic on the palate at times, cherry sweetness and odd Luden’s quality at others. A bit lactic and dry into the finish. Oaky, gentle sweetness, lingering sharp lactic elements and bretty cobwebs. Overall, I thought it was solid, but those Cranberry and Redcurrant versions Derek shared recently were considerably stronger offerings.
