3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thx! to Bart for this one // 375 ml. bottle tastes alongside the Spontangrape @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // 7.7 % Kriek “lambic” brewed by the Proef for Mikkeller // label is pleasing, same design as the others of the series, more of a cranberry hue // nice design // poured in a Martin’s IPA teku // appearance of this one is absolutely stellar, incredibly bright ruby, head is small, pinkish & bit sad but the colour of the beer itself, damn that is bright // smell is unfortunately a bit light, not picking up much, some light cherry (not kriek) grenadine, candy sugar, hint lemon acid & dust // taste is very simple lemon acidity, very straightforward, reasonable level of sourness, very light barnyard, wood, some minor cherry grenadine thrown in the back, ridiculously simple attempt at a kriek lambic, lambic are probably the most complex beverage known to man & given how one note, simple with a dash of cherry grenadine in the end this is, yeah, this dull dude, dull // Grape, basic, cassis were also very simple & basic but given the fact that the kriek is just some minor cherry grenadine in this one, feels like an incredibly week attempt to copy Cantillon Kriek // I am convinced now that these “lambic’s” were made using bacteria’s in order to mimic the real one, the lack of complexity is yeah … // sour beers is an art & Proef is technique which doesn’t work in this uncontrollable style & this kind of shows it // his oud bruin beers are supposed to be pretty nice (Proef), I don’t really know where they were going with this one // oily, quite well carbonated // acidity remains in the mouth // don’t see much aging potential, expect this to just go even further down the hill

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a murky red from the bottle with fluffy off-white head that leaves nice webbing. Aroma is funky yeast, wood, musky grapes, slight tart cherry and sweet fruit. Taste is a little less impressive, but it’s all still there. Quickly tart middle, ends funky and dry, medium carbonation. This is pretty damn good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Poured a reddish color Lambic with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of tart cherry notes with light woody notes. Taste is also dominated by tart cherries notes with some woody notes and some light funky notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not as funky as some of its Belgian cousin but very well brewed with good amount of complexity and well balanced acidity level.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy pink with a large pink head that lasts and has good legs. Aroma is sour cherries, brettanomyces, vinegar like, overall mildly funky. Flavour is sour cherry, funky oak, brettanomyces, moderately acidic(not sure if that’s like a common lactic acid in beers), and kind of a citrus like touch(mostly lemon). Not too well versed in lambics and I’m not sure if this is a great example but I found it to be enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Clear red pour, with a nice light pink head, very pretty. Nice fruity cherry aroma, light vanilla notes, very mild funk. Taste is tart, with sweet cherry notes, a tad medicinal (cough syrup), rather authentic lambic acidity. Palate is quite dry, a tad undercarbed. Good stuff.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This Lambic pours a hazy ruby red color with a thick foamy pinkish-white head that fizzes away steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Cherries and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with a tart cherry character and notes of grass, wheat and malt. The finish is mildly sour with a cherry aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
shimmering ruby, moderately opaque with a puffy pink head that laces well but drops. Nose is surprisingly sour, slight cherry pie tempered by leather with plenty of dust and stable. Flavor is muted by the ultra high carbonation and resulting bitterness. mid is light cherry, bit syrupy before a watery earth finish, citric with faint wheat and mushroom hints lingering longer than desired. Ends short, incredibly bitter, but way more balanced than expected.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Ben, thanks! Pours a light red with a thin head, the aroma had a little bit of skunk mixed in with a slight amount of funk and fruit, not as much as I was really looking for, the flavor has a light amount of fruit with just a touch of sourness in the finish, kind of underwhelming from what I was expecting out of it, wanted it to be a little bit more.
