3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted on 10/1/13 from a capped 375mL bottle purchased at Louisville Beer Store. Pours clear deep, rusty bronze, with a thick, fizzy, off-white head that quickly recedes to a thin, bubbly collar of lace. The nose is dusty, dry, and tart lemon-like a lambic, with a lightly nutty hint, but lacking the depth of the best gueuze. The flavor is very similar to the nose in that it is very close to being a gueuze, but no where near sour or complex enough to be. It has the dusty dry character with a touch of lemon, but the depth and sourness fall short. The body is light with fizzy, nearly sparkling carbonation, and a medium tart finish that shows some nutty malt.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Deep gold pour with thin ring of white foam. Aroma is nice, really dusty gueuze aromas, surprisingly close to the real thing, musty barnyard funk, light menthol. Taste is tart, mild funk, just a touch of acetic sourness. Palate is dry, med bodied with low carbonation. Surprising by its authenticity, and quite drinkable.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Looks.. Orange/amber, sml white head.
Smells..unripe green apples, lemons...acidic, barnyard.
Tastes.. All the fresh acidic green fruits/citrus sour notes are there, but then slightly dulled before they reach their peak, by the sweet white wine and oak woodyness, lingering sweet white booze, very classy.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 ml bottle
Picked up last summer in Belgium I was finally able to share this great release with some other people in July. A fantastic gueuze has a different style than the Belgian versions yet still sparkles with a world class sourness. If these were not so expensive might buy them more often.
Aroma / Appearance - A transparent golden base shimmers with lively carbonation for company. A thin wisp of head curls around the edges. Sharp vinegar, acidic aspects, and sherry are tart on the nose. This feels a little heavy though overall it works well.
Flavor / Palate - Vinegar, sherry, and lactic acid are abrasive and refreshing at the same time. A sharp cheesy note carries to the vinegary finish. Like a champagne glass topped off by a splash of bourbon the sweetness, acidity, and texture are ideal. It would not be hard to drink a whole bottle in one sitting.
