cmacklin (710) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 29, 2016
375ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange with an average, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet and sour aroma of brettanomyces, peach, wheat malt and oak. Sweet flavour of peach, wheat malt, light funk and oak with a crisp, dry, tart, acidic finish. Medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation.

375ml bottle with BBD of 17/4/24. Hazy amber-golden pour with a small white head. Nose is mild-mod barnyard funk, damp wood, sweet peaches and a hint of blue cheese. Palate has initial vinous peach-like sweetness followed by a mild-moderate tart and sour dry finish. Body is light-medium for the ABV with a low carbonation and easy drinking. Confirms, once again, that the Spontan series from Mikkeller is well worth seeking out.

7.7%ABV. Fruit Lambic. Tapped out deep gold. 8ºSRM. Nose has some nice acetic. No significant fruity aroma notes to distinguish from the other fruit spontans. Mouthfeel is dry. Palate has good amount of woody and dry flavors. The spontans all start with a nice dry, cleanly pale malt palate on which you can taste some of the subtle fruit flavors. This one has peach and peach candy hints near the end. Finish is clean and brief. At the end of the day, it’s a solid, dry, wood-accented, sour ale. Goes on Favorites List !

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2016 Bottle in the dange
Pours a lightly hazy pale orange-ish color with a medium sized head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is very nice, lightly funky with a nice bit of hay and earthiness with a big blast of fruity character. Some wet stones, some peaches, but more lemon zest with some light woody character.

The flavor is tart and fruity with a acidic lingering in the finish. I don’t know exactly what to make of this one, I mean there is some delicious peach, there is a good bit of sourness, it’s certainly on the sweet end of offerings from this series. It’s the mix of metallic character with the acidity that just does the rest of the character an injustice here.

Pretty good beer, but not my favorite from this series.

Draft. Dark gold beer with small white head. Really mild aroma which is a bit sour and a bit sweet, like candied peaches. Flavour is mainly sour with a sweet finish, slight tarty peach aftertaste with some notes of the stone. Probably the least good one from Mikkeller Spontan-series.
