Incredibly tart and sour which is really what I want in a beer of this style. What I love about Mikkeller products is you are always going to get something interesting. This one ROCKS MY BOAT TOTALLY. It will be too acidic and sour for many people but for me oh it’s the bomb. A totally great sour ale which is lip-smackingly wonderful and one which pokes at you for ages. The after-taste is incredibly lingering. Fantastic use of redcurrants. TOP WORK.

Bottled. Pours hazy red orange with a large, loff-white head. Aroma of brett, wood, red currant and barnyard. Dry flavor that ends up tart. Light to medium bodied, watery text. and soft carb. An excellent Fruit beer.

On tap at Capone’s. Pours a beautiful slightly cloudy vibrant purplish red with a slight light pink head. Aromas of cranberry and tart cherry. Slight funky lacto sourness. Taste is sweet and sour but the sourness isn’t crazy. Nice and tart, refreshing. I wasn’t expecting greatness and the beer over delivered. Medium light body and medium high carbonation.

(330 ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Nov 14 2014) Pours a clear light red with orangish highlights and a small off white head that disappeared without lace. Aroma quite rose wine like, some fruity red currant as expected, tart, little bit of kinda funky oaky character. Flavour was wine like, fairly acidic and sour/tart with red currant, citrus juice, light vinegar, some oak, a hint of sweetness to the fruit but otherwise tart leading to dry on the finish, bit of berry skin, more wood, a little funk in the aftertaste. Light body with crisp, fairly high carbonation. Not the most complex sour and highlights red currant as expected, but it is bright, flavourful, and fairly refreshing if acidic.

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Clear dark amber with off-white head. Aromas of berries, tart notes, vinegar, oak. Tastes of berries, citrus, floral notes, big tart notes, vinegar, wine. Medium body with a dry finish. Probably my favorite of the Spontan beers I’ve tried.
