I’ve had a few glasses of this and the inconsistencies make me mark it down. Some kegs have been quite wonderful; acidity and funk balanced by juicy orange fruit, but others have had overwhelming amounts of acid. If you get a good pour, it’s a solid beer, but it can be somewhat undrinkable.

Bottle (375ml) from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Murky orange colour. Half-inch white fluffy head, quite good retention, settles as as a thick bubbly layer with some lacing. Tart aroma with passion fruit, sour cherries, crushed grape kernels, yeast, vinegar. Medium body, average carbonation, cleansing mouthfeel. Taste is predominantly sour/tart, to some degree balanced by a juicy sweetness (orange, passion fruit, peach). Citrusy, tongue- and teeth-drying aftertaste. High degree of ’fruit fidelity’ and all-in-all strangely pleasant.

Pours a hazy golden with a really thin veil of foam that doesn’t leave much lacing. Aroma is of overripe fruits (to the point of being almost rotten), vegetal matter, garrigue. Really weird and intriguing. Taste is really tart and citric, dry. Fruits, smoke and salt make the flavors. Pretty unique! The acidity is almost too much but it is still really drinkable. Body is light, carbonation medium. Cool to try, this wouldn’t be the one from this serie I would come back to though.

On tap at Mikkeller and Friends. Pours a hazy orange with no head. Dry and tart. Some aromas of sea-buckthorn and sour forest berries. Medium bodied. Bitter finish.

On tap in a tulip. Pours hazy golden/amber with a lacy, white head. Aroma of fruits, some sour and funky notes, a little pale and caramel malts, and light spices. Flavor the same with a good sourness and fruitiness. Average texture. A pretty good sour.

Bottle (375 ml). Hazy/murky orange with a low mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is really special with a salty presence, citric notes, funk and light wood. Taste is way more citric (so citric that the first sip is really surprising) along with funk, wood and, again (but less) salty notes. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Citric - mouth puckering. Dry finish. Not as easily drinkable as others from the series because is really citric, but still enjoyable. Unique and fun!

375mL bottle, pours an opaque murky orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out weird notes of seaweed, salt, and funk - very bizarre, but somehow pleasant. Flavour is totally different, bringing out loads of intensely citrus notes, some seaweed, vegetal notes, and barnyard funk. Very unusual flavour profile - I never knew what sea buckthorn was until searching it up before drinking this. Only Mikkeller would think of brewing a lambic with this ingredient, and it somehow works cohesively. Finishes on notes of citrus, acid and seaweed. Great stuff.

375 ml bottle.
Pours cloudy orange color with a minimal head. Aroma is fruity, some gooseberry bush, rose hip, mild yeast notes and some wood also. Flavor is nice and sour with citric fruits, rowan berries, some faint apricot notes, gooseberries and yeast too, can’t really locate the seabuckthorn underneath. Some Granny Smith -like green apples on the long finish. Very tangy sour palate, nice.

Pours a deep orange-gold. Quiet cloudy. Small to medium head, just a shade or two off of white. The aroma is a bit messy, but there’s also some fun stuff in there. There’s a light off note, kind of a sour buttery, cheesy quality. There’s a bit too much harsh vinegar acidity. Otherwise, there’s some good funk and a light lactic note. I have no clue what sea buckthorn tastes like. I’m guessing that it has a healthy sour tang to it. It smells a bit like an underripe berry crossed with an underripe apricot. The taste is similar. The acidity is a touch harsh. The fruit is interesting, but it doesn’t soften (probably heightens it, really) the beer’s pucker. Very sour. There’s an odd saltiness, more unexpected than unwelcome. Green apples, lemons, sour grapes. Mouthfeel is bracing. Lots of pucker. Normal carbonation. Overall, it’s just ok. Perhaps, I’m not a big fan of sea buckthorn, but the fruit doesn’t really draw me in overmuch. More importantly, it’s just too dominated by vinegar acidity. Still, it’s interesting and enjoyable enough.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Stefansgade. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich sour brett, lactose acid, little vinegar, malt, fruits and hops. Little astringent. Nice!
