Oh olivello spinoso quanto sei goloso! Acidità tagliente che strega da subito il palato, sfumatura leggera di bacche e di frutta, buona persistenza. Personalità d’eccezione! Stupenda!

Pours a hazy yellow with a small but well retained head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma has a very rich, deep funkiness with some sour cherry and general bright fruit. It’s earthy & lemony... all together very very enjoyable.
The flavor is quite tart & earthy with that citrus rind character. It’s very dry, nicely sour... puckeringly sour with a mild brininess.
Easily among my favorite "faker" Lambics.

Bottled. Pours hazy golden with a large, off-white, lacing head. Aroma of brett, seabuckthorn and barnyard. dry flavor that ends up tart. Light to medium bodied, watery text. and soft carb. A nice brew indeed.

Je pensais avoir touché le fond du baril avec la SpontanKoppi mais c’était sans connaître le désastre de l’argousier. Une bière à la bille et au vomie. Ma femme pensait que je la niaisait quand je lui ai fait goûter. Un 20 piastres chez le d’yabe. Bue avec Pat l’handicap...(09-07-29).

Bottle @ 10K + OT. Cloudy orange pour with a small white head. Sort of a vegetal aroma. Pretty damn funky, too. Light acetic qualities, some orange peel, salt, and a hint of salami. Interesting... Flavor is significantly better. Lots of citric acidity, some salt, wild/barnyard funk, and sour berries. Interesting not sure what the h seabuckthorn tastes like, though.

>> This was served blind next to Cantillon Tyrnilambic Baie d’Argousier. Same green 375mL bottle coming out of brown bag. This one poured a low haze golden with soda fizz foam. Nose is armpit, funky, deli meat, bologna, buttery. Really odd. Taste was pretty good though- clean, salty, tannic with excellent grapefruit fruit leather piling on. No acetic, no citric, mostly lactic. Really enjoyed the palate on this one.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and very minor lacing. Aroma consists of sour and tart note with funky notes and barnyard flavours. Taste is also dominated by tart and sour notes with light acidic touch with funky barnyard notes easily noticeable. Light oak notes can also be detected with the buckthorn notes easily blending in the mix. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Very interesting beer that I could see myself trying again.

Hippophae, or sea-buckthorns, are deciduous shrubs in the family Elaeagnaceae. Sea-buckthorn berries are edible and nutritious, though astringent and oily, unpleasant to eat raw, unless ’bletted’ (frosted to reduce the astringency) and/or mixed as a drink with sweeter substances such as apple or grape juice.
The beer was ordered online, through craftshack. It was quite expensive at $14/375ml. It pours a hazy, deep orange color with initially what was a small head that quickly faded into nothing.
Aromas of the beer include very raw and tart apples, some funk and some nondescript bacterial infection. Taste is bitter and raw with zero residual sweetness. I’ve never had a sea buckthorn berry before, but I can imagine what it tastes like through this beer. Very sour and earthy, with a dirty biting tartness that is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. This is a very unusual experience and for that, this beer gains points.
The finish is raw and unforgiving, clobbering you relentlessly with its earthy bitterness and raw sour berries. This beer is a experience. Not the best beer in the world, but something you should taste at least once.

A little non-hop bitter finishing lambic, from one of my all-time favorite brewers should be a big win. Let’s see...
Smells of a pretty standard lambic with some pear/green apple notes and it has a slightly bitter bite at the end in an almost spicy way kind of. A very interesting beer -aren’t all lambics? Tart like a lambic normally is. Delicious.
