Aroma was full of citrus hop notes, quite bitter and crisp. Flavor began with pine notes, but citrus hops dominate to the finish. liinis (714), Helsinki, Finland

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Bottle from K&L Redwood City, shared by bubba83 on BA. Thanks, Kevin! Nice almost clear copper color with a creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, apple, and citrus hops. Flavor is slightly oxidized, with caramel malt, orange/citrus hops, green apple, and some sherry. Palate is a little astringent with medium body and lingering bitterness. This was not quite as good as other Mikkeller IPAs I’ve had, although it still wasn’t bad at all. May have been less than fresh. mconstant (12), Greater London, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Poured amber, with thin white head. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Big citrusy piney hop flavour, with solid malt base. Medium mouthfeel, dry bitter finish. Had a couple of bottles from a different batch a few months ago which were superior. Still, a great IPA. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Enjoyed from a 11.2oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a light to medium yellow color with a white head. The nose gives strong indications of the liberal use of west coast hops. Cascade is evident. The palate falls short of the promises that the nose makes, giving only a very one-dimentional and somewhat harsh bitterness, likely due to the Chinook. Almost no malt is detectable. While an American IPA shouldn’t have a tremendous malt character, this beer doesn’t have one at all. In many ways, it seemed like hopped carbonated water with some alcohol character in the mid-palate to the finish. A disappointment. cmonster (75), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bomber served in a tulip. Burnt orange-amber in color with a creamy off-white, two-finger head. Aroma is heavy on the malt, showing notes of caramel and honey, with a touch of hops. Flavour is malty but finishes quite bitter. Medium body, decent carbonation. I’ve had this a few times with a different showing each time. This time, not my favorite. I’ll take a their Simcoe Single Hop over this one. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Bottle. A pretty big IPA. Pours deep, dark amber with a beige head. Aroma is quite pleasant, with lots of hops, notes of honey, caramel and citrus(lemon sherbet). Flavour is fairly similar with a more pronounced maltiness and nuttiness. Palate is quite dry with a lingering bitterness. Maybe not the very best IPA out there, but a very nice one all the same.
