Commercial Description:
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Bottle.Medium sized head that was fizzy, foamy, off-white, and mostly diminished with a fair amount of lacing.Mostly transparent with a slight haziness, carbonation observed, and an orange hue with a golden tint. Nose was very, very nice--malt, caramel, hoppy, citrus, and pine. Flavor mimicked the nose and just as apeasing along with some bitterness. Medium in body.Very, very quaffable, easy to drink, well balanced, would drink this again, and worthy of a try. More please!!

Pretty nice IPA with good flavor but a tad heavy on the bitter aftertaste. That’s my only real critique. Pretty good on the palate and rather flavorful. Would drink again.

A unique and loving tribute to the American IPA. Stateside sets up in the glass with not much head formation atop a sparkling deep golden liquid. It has a rolling mouthfeel and a sharp amped malt profile with spikes of light caramels balanced by a restrained but massive hop backbone bristling with herbaceous and viney character. Kudos to Mikkeller for making a very unique and wonderful example of the style.

Bottle. Pale amber color with a small head. Crispy hoppy aroma blended with grassy and flowery notes. Nice spicy bitterness in the flavor, overall a very hoppy taste. Refreshing for the one used to hoppy bitterness. Leaves a bitter metallic palate.

Dours dark copper with a frothy, white head. Aroma of pine, with notes of cirs and spice. Initial taste of sweet malts, flowing through pine and flora, arriveing at decidedly bitter. Good beer, but the bitterness takes over a little quickly.

1 pint, .9 fl. oz. bottle with a big thank you shout out to tytoanderso for this excellent BONUS - thanks much Tyler! Pours a hazy golden with a towering creamy yellowish tan head that slowly dissipates. Aroma is a nice blend of grapefruit, pine, citrus, and grass. Flavor is a crisp, refreshing and lingering hops bite, with more pine/citrus and a slightly sweet malty backbone. Nothing earth-shattering, but a well done, refreshing and enjoyable IPA - thanks again Tyler!
