Commercial Description:
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Bottle. Aroma is sharp apples and some citrus. Cloudy amber appearance, lots of pillowy creamy head. Citrus flavor as expected, not that bitter, floral. Confident beer, sharp precision, but feels too "surgical;" like what you’d expect a good European brewery to do with an American beer. Good, but nothing fancy.

Mmmm, aroma just spills out of this one, right out of the gate! Let’s look at it first, though.... Clearish, ambery color, big, puffy off-white head. Mighty fine lookin’ IPA! It’s all going down in the nose, bitter twist of grapefruit, hint of lemon, plenty of pine. Big hoppy aromatics, vast, and ever-lasting. Intense hop bitterness, out loud and proud! Drinkin’ it: spanks the tongue, slaps the palate, beats the ’buds, and lets every sensory receptor swim in the tastiness! Then after the bitter barrage, it glides softly and creamy-ly along, utterly pleasant. Smooth even, although the slightly above average abv, (7%) sticks out some. But not too much. I’ll say what I always say..."worth it?" the 9.49 for a bomber, I mean? No. As good or better IPAs are made all the time here in the USA, and I could have picked up a growler of a 6-pack for the same price. But, I had to try it. This is quite cool, that European brewers are emulating American beer innovations, and doing micro-breweries in places like Denmark and Norway. Way, way cool.

pours a clear gold with high full frothy head. sweet smooth citrus aroma. floral fragrant taste. lacks the fresh hops. lacks the bitterness. flower presence, fluffy full bodied palate. good but noticibly european, lacks the fresh bitter hoppiness.

the aroma when this bottle was opened was vast. It grew as the beer was poured. THe thick off white head that followed made a lot of promises. All were kept. This beer was smoother than most in its class and was very well balanced. Excellent American IPA made by the Danish

Clear amber, moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is typical PNW hops: grapefruit, citrus, pine, etc. Body is medium, moderate bitterness and sweetness. Reasonable hop flavors. Somewhat off balance, hard to describe, but blame the malts. Decent to good IPA, but a dime a dozen IMO.

Aroma has that typical softness that Mikkeller is famous for, gentle hopping floral at first but after a while you get some citrus, taste is a smooth caramel soup, more malt then aroma would lead to to believe, bitterness hits you bigtime, flavor hops gentle and citrusy, very drinkable , but I like a little more oomph in my IPA’s

Copper pour, thin white head. Aroma is pretty damn malty lots of caramel and some citrus hops. Flavor is yet again another european IPA malt bomb. All caramel malt, resiny bitterness but low on the flavor and aroma. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet cloying finish and a big resiny aftertaste. Citrus hops are kinda there but not really.

The aroma is very hopyy with malt. The appearance is copper with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma, nice but simple. The palate is thin but ok. Overall it’s good.
