Commercial Description:
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Slightly hazy gold, pillow white head with wonderful lacing. Nose is pine, resin and grapefruit. Some nice lightly toasted malt in there as well. Flavor is piney hops, a bit of rind, something I can only describe as bitter caramel. A hint of tea in the finish. A bit much on the body - leans towards being too heavy.

This was a really nice IPA. Golden color with a thin white head. Very hoppy as it should be but balance. Well worth it.

Appearance: Pours a clear, copper body with a lush, foamy white head. Lightly bubbly. Smell: Pleasantly perfumy aroma of citrus fruits and pine with a hint of spice and biscuity malts in the background. Taste: At the start there’s a flash of biscuit malts with a brief, subtle caramel sweetness. Then, you get a bright citric, fruity blast and a taste of resinous pine. Finishes dry with a light, lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Relatively smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability: One of the best non-American American IPAs I’ve had, and one that could give many domestic IPAs a run for their money.

Bottle courtesy of Degarth. Thanks again, Joe. Golden orange body with a huge, pillowy and fluffy beige head. Looks like suds from a bubble bath. Nose is tremendous and huge, full of grapefruits, lemons, spicy hops, pine, grass and caramel malts. A pleasure to smell for a while and pick out new things each time. Flavor doesn’t disappoint, brings all of the promised notes and with force. Very balanced in flavor, huge amounts of hop spice and citrus, but a wonderful toffee/caramel backing to really bring everything together. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Has a nice, style appropriate slick mouthfeel. Drinks very easily. Finish is medium length, bitter and full of citrus notes. A very "juicy" IPA. I really can’t find anything terribly wrong with this beer at all, and might have underrated it some. One of my favorite IPA’s in a while.

500 ml bottle, thanks to Drewbeerme. Pours clear medium amber with a small whitish head and a nice thick stream of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Nice IPA aroma, caramel and hints of marshmallow in the malts, crisp, fresh floral and citrus hops that become more dusty and pungent as they warm. Mellow biscuity and caramel malt character is complemented by bright but reasonable hops floral, spruce, citrus peel and a somewhat ashy-astringent finish and aftertaste. Medium body and gentle carbonation. Nice example of an IPA by our Danish friends.

Pour a hazy reddish orange hue with a diminishing off-white frothy head. Good lacing on my tulip glass. Pine aroma with hints of caramel. Lots of hops with a caramel malty finish. Dry medium body with soft carbonation. Nice IPA.

Bottle. Orange color with fluffy off-white head. Aroma is bittersweet with notes of citrus fruits, sweet malt, orange-peel, caramel, flowers and some light salmiak notes. The taste is also bitter and sweet: grape, pine, caramel, orange-peel, sweet fruit, paracetamol?, liqourice and a bit of alcohol. The bitterness is a bit sharp and harsh. Re-tested 090314

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Aroma of citrus and pine. Golden amber color with a substantial white head. Thinnish body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is citrus and pine with caramel malt. The finish is nice bitter hop. It definitely has an effect on the mouth. Very tasty.
