Commercial Description:
Earlier batches brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Medium statured tan head, retention is very good with a heavy coating lace. Fairly clear, gold, copper hued brew. Nose is fruity, citrusy with some nice inky notes, juicey with lightly toasty malts backing them up. Body is about medium, resiny on the palate, crisp hop palate, bright. Just a lovely load of hoppiness. Inky, citrusy, piney and down right left coastish! Mild crystal malts hiding behind the hopslide. Dry, fruity hoppy finish with a well balanced bite. Garoooovy brew! Bottle purchased at statelineliquors! Props to Robert for getting these brews in, you da man!!

The aroma was citrusy and malty with a resinous grapefruit and orange character and a nice caramel malt backbone. The aroma was fresh and nicely done with an estery/fruity nose. The beer poured into the glass crystal clear pale amber with an off-white frothy tall head which retreated slowly and laced the glass. The flavor was nicely bittered with a smoothness which balanced well with the malt. The hops were citrusy and a bit restrained in character. The citrus was mostly grapefruit and orange. The finish became dry with lasting resinous bittering into the aftertaste. The body was just above medium and the carbonation level was a smidge below moderate. A nice, well bittered IPA which hid it’s alcohol from start to finish. 16.9 ounce bottle, $8.99.

Sample at WLV with Mikkel. Cloudy amber with nice white head. Aroma was pretty piney hops with some caramel malt. Flavor is very piney, but a nice malt backbone. Full bodied, dry and nice carb. Pretty great.

serious bitterness, and a seriously good ipa. Substantial shaving cream head, golden orange color, with a fine pine aroma. Hops come off way spicier than I was expecting looking at the hop bill. Regardless, there is a lot of spicyness in the hops, grapefruit bitterness at the end that lingers for a while. Extremely well done.

Bottle thanks to hopson. Dark golden body, lasting off-white head tinged with gold, hoppy nose with a hint of honey. Body dominated by hops, with a firm bitterness and Amarillo spiciness. Some citrus in the finish. Malts are dryish. Very nice.

50cL Danish bottling, 7%, dated 9/4/07.. thanks to sk8viking for the bottle! Poured healthy medium caramel with a towering cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up an intriguing and welcoming array of crisp lighter fruits, candy sweetness, and a bit of a sharp alcoholey bite right at the back. The flavor was centered around sweet candied fruits and lesser caramel with a solid floral, fruit, and pine hope bite around the edges.. the bottle is a little older, and the malt profile has stepped it up. Medium-bodied on the palate with a nice warm bitterness all around.. a little weak across the middle. Overall quite nice!

Bottle. Clear orange color with a large head. Aroma of citrus, oily resin and tropical fruit hops with plenty of caramel malt. Floral-citrus taste with more than enough caramel to balance. Bitter finish. Oily texture.
Like the name says, it’s just another American IPA. Unquestionably the best I’ve had that wasn’t made in the US.

Pours amber with fluffy white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and pine. Nice IPA with hops, citrus, and pine flavors throughout. Refreshing.
