joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 26, 2008 Pours an orange/amber color with a thick white head, good carbonation and decent lacing. Aroma of citrus, floral and pine hops. Flavor has citrus, with a light grapefruit-like bitterness in the finish. Taste is also balanced with a light malt flavor, and the beer has a refreshing finish. Very solid beer overall. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 25, 2008 Updated: Apr 11, 2009500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange body with a big off-white head. Aroma is citrus and some caramel. Flavor is citrus fruity, bitter and sweet caramel malt. A nice IPA and even if it is quite bitter I think this is one of the few Mikkeller beers that could have even a little more hops. Still very nice and refreshing. mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Dec 22, 2008 Bottle. Hazy reddish orange in color with a nice white creamy head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Hoppy malty fruity aroma. Orange, grapefruit and lemony notes. Piney, earthy and malty flavor. Caramel citrusy notes. Nice bitter finish. Full bodied. Enjoyable. Very drinkable. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Dec 21, 2008 Updated: Oct 23, 2009Bottled Courtesy of BeerMerchants.com - Cheers Phil. espenra (277), Oslo, Norway Dec 20, 2008 50cl bottle from Barley Wine. It poured an orange colour with a huge white creamy head that settled down slowly in the glass. The aroma is very hoppy with notes of oranges, and a few hints of citrus fruits. The flavour is slightly bitter and tastes of hops and pine. It has a long, lingering aftertaste. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 19, 2008 After travelling across an ocean and then across a good chunk of the U.S., this fine IPA still gave off a burst of fresh hoppy aroma when I opened the bottle. Grassy lemoney piney goodness! The deep golden liquid with nice off-white foam jumped out of my cup and greeted me with the joy of a long-lost friend. Its taste lingered and changed while clinging to my tongue, bringing visions of sunny citrus orchards, dew-kissed herb gardens, and even the mighty Viking warships of yore. Buy a bottle if you can. It’s like being in Denmark and San Diego and India at the same time... woah. MrRain (415), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Dec 14, 2008 500ml bottle poured into a shaker. Starting temperature at 39 degrees F. MSIPA pours murky and bronze-colored with a smallish head of fine bubbles that leave lace curtains on the side of the glass. The aroma is of hops, pine and spearmint. This beer has a nice thick body that is just a touch oily, no doubt from the hops. The flavor is solid and bitter. It has pine and hemp flavors as well. This is another excellent showing from Mikkeller yet not a beer that stands out in the ultra-competitive category of world-class IPAs. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Dec 13, 2008 The Dan Journal No.247. Tasted 11/10/08. 500ml bottle. Hazy and mildly sedimented with a golden orange hue. Bright fresh hop aromas. Lemon candy and orange. Touch piney hop note. Medium to Full bodied with a tart and tangy palate. Big bitterness in the finish. Solid drinking and a good interpretation.
