Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
A love of American microbrews is the inspiration behind this IPA, brewed with generous amounts of aromatic, American hops, which provide the significant freshness and bitterness with lots of citrus notes. The taste sensations are nicely balanced by the sweetness from the caramel malt.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pilsner, munich and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (chinook, cascade and amarillo) and ale yeast.

Bottle. Great aroma - filled with hops. Clear amber colour with nice white head. Bitter flavour as would be expected from the tremendous amonts of hops, but also fruits. Just great. Long lasting bitteness. A great mixture af Danish and American brewing art.

Bottle, 9th August 2008. Coppery amber with a hoppy nose and flavour, but more balanced and restrained than most American IPAs. Good long aftertaste.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Poured a clear dark amber color with a three finger off white head. Aroma of malt and citrus hops. Flavor is slightly too malty, but a slight grapefruit flavor pushes through. Bitter dry finish at the end.

Apricot pour with a beige head and moderate lacing. Nose is of grapefruit and malt. Taste is a bit overburdened by the malt, yet the hop bitterness is still there, especially at the end. Mouthfeel is sensuous and the finish is crisp and clean - the bitterness lasts quite a while. Not a great IPA, but a good effort on the part of our Danish brothers to make an American style IPA.

Pours orange / light bronze with a beige soapy head. The aroma has grapefruit, pine, green onions and musty malt. Medium body that is quite resiny with a moderate amount of sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with creamy caramel malt, earthy / piny hops, sour grapefruit and lots of sticky resin. The finish has a dry hoppiness than lingers for a lot time. A very nice IPA, I just wish it was priced so I could get it more often.
