LearninBeer (194), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Aug 28, 2009 Pours an orange/brown, big head, excellent lacing. The aroma is hops, pine and citrus a slight malt aroma in the background. The initial flavor is bitter, it stays with you, not a whole lot else happening. The mouthfeel is light, watery, the bitter is drowning out anything the malt be bringing. I keep waiting to taste some malts but nothing. It’s OK but I think there a much better IPA’s. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Aug 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with a pretty substantial white head that dissipates rapidly until about half is gone, then a little slower to finish. Aroma is a nice, full bodied citrus, with notable hop characteristics, though it’s not too overpowering. The flavor is crisp, clean, and refreshing. Alcohol not too high to cause issues with enjoyment. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England Aug 25, 2009 Bottle. More quality work from Mikkeller. Clear amber goldn with medium white head. Lovely aroma, quite malty for an IPA.Citrus hoppage but not over powering, forest after rain type thing, nice caramel malt notes and a dry bitter finish. Really well balanced and very bloody tasty. corby112 (677), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2009 Pours a clear golden amber color color with a huge foamy white head. Beautiful aroma dominate by earthy and citrus hops with a sweet caramel malt presence. Perfectly balanced with huge citrus hoppy flavor up front followed by sweet maltiness and a dry, bitter hop finish. Excellent!
JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a big fluffy white head. Aroma of fresh hops, grapefruit, and spices.Taste is very hoppy and slightly bitter. Flavor is earthy with a hint of toffee and malt. Semi bitter dry finish. hopheadfett (50), Oak Ridge, New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2009 Pours a hazy amber with a nice head, good lace. Nose of floral hops, citrus, and sweet malt. Taste is sweet malt, citrus, then a nice hop bite. Finishes a tad bitter, quite dry, and no warmth. Medium body, sticky texture, normal carbonation. Overall a great interpretation of an american IPA. although no "wow" factor, just a very balanced IPA. DrBeer (777), Danderyd Stockholm, Sweden Aug 10, 2009 Orange-brown, hazy.
Aroma of elderberry, flowers, malt and lemongrass.
Flavour of hops and citrus. A bit sweet. Heavy, dry bitterness. MeisterBrew (138), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Aug 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of citrus pine and sweet malts. Flavor starts out fairly smooth and finishes with a nice lasting hoppy bitterness. Nice IPA. Tastes like a slightly hoppier Dale’s Pale Ale.
