unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jul 12, 2008 My 100th IPA rating and #1499!: 22oz bottle. Pours a lusting gold with a huge foam of golden suds floating on the surface. Beautiful citrus hop aroma. Sweet and resiny. I love the aroma of Amarillo! Mouthfeel is strangely unique. Sweet full flavored, full bodied malt character. Just as you swallow the first sip, the hop bite kicks in. Sharp, smooth, bitter, and sweet. All together. Sweet at first then the heat. Just like the plate of thai food I ate as I enjoyed this bottle. And a perfect pairing. This beer is extremely pleasent, balanced, and a new favorite of mine. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Vibrantly gold. Very nice mouthfeel: soft, rich, appropriately carbonated. Wonderful flavors and aromas from start to finish. Malts had elements of freshly baked bread, yeasty dough, sugary caramel and faint honey. Hops were bright with pine, flowers, earth and citrus (grapefruit, tangerine, lemon). Some heat in the back of the throat melded well with a grassy bitterness. Bold yet pleasant. Overall, I really enjoyed this IPA. Light golden amber pour. Bitter, herbal hop aroma. Heavy bitter/herbal hop flavor with some sweet maltiness. sirpsycho (342), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber/orange, nice thick orange head. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit. Flavor is grapefruit, grapes, grass and hops. Sweet at the beginning, finishes dry and bitter. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 24, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored fine to medium sized bubbles that left behind a hazy typically carbonated dark orange colored body. The mouth feel was semi-thick and tingly from start to finish. The aroma contained notes of soft piny hops. The flavor was strong with mildly piny hop malt notes. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Jun 13, 2008 Amber coloured. Light brown nose. Grassy hoppiness in the nose. Also
some toffee and sweetness in the taste. A strong bite of hops in the aftertaste. Bottled
daddyslick (36), Arizona, USA Jun 11, 2008 From reading the other comments I think I might have got a bad bottle. For me, there was very little head, and very poor head retention. I didn’t get much in the way of aroma hops and I did get a lot of bittering hops. All in all, it wasn’t horrible or anything, but my experience certainly wasn’t what the other comments have to say
