SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 27, 2008 1 pt .9 fluid oz. bottle: Clear copper pour with little head left after a few minutes. Hops from start to finish, the nose is robust with rosey perfume, candied oranges and rindy grapefruit. A little bit of time opens up the caramel and toffee malts, which do a substantial job of balancing the hoppiness. Bitter is the best way to describe the body, chinook city would be another. After the initial feeling of taking a bite out of an under ripened grapefruit skin subsides, I notice a lot of orange and peach hoppiness and a nice amount of sweet malt as well. A nice IPA, but the bitterness is through the roof. Tame it back and this would be a solid IPA. Of course, I think you could score a sixer of Alpha King or Green Flash IPA for about the same price as this one bottle and be just as happy. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 26, 2008 Amber color. smell of hops, caramel, cotton candy, pine, malt, citrus and grass. Taste of flowers, hops, caramel, malt, spice, pine, fresh cut grass and citrus. slimshaky (3), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count May 25, 2008 aroma has a bit of pine, but nothing special. loved the appearance, beautiful orange color with a smallish thick head on top that lasted till the last drop. good amount of bitterness with a little white wine in the finish. very drinkable and love the concept. reminds me of goose island’s i.p.a. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA May 24, 2008 Nice IPA for a lazy day. Pours clear orange with a tight head. Aroma of pine hops and some white fruits like peach. Taste is hoppy with an off bitter finish. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA May 21, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber with medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet melon and pineapple, light caramel and a little grapefruit. Flavor is caramel, citrus, grapefruit grapes and grass. Light to medium body, long bitter finish. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA May 21, 2008 Murky orange color. A lot of bitter grapefruit and piney hops up front with some caramel maltiness in the middle then bitter, dry and hoppy in the finish. Nice amount of hops but also quite a bit of malts to make this IPA well balanced. It’s expensive but also quite good. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle from Julio’s Liqour in Mass. Pours with an orange-amber body topped by a thin to medium thick, quickly disappearing head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with lots of grapefruity and piney hop notes as well as a peachy fruity note. Medium bodied, smooth and slightly warming down deep. aru (105), Smørum, Denmark May 17, 2008 Copper colored with light orange head. A lot of bitterness dominates the impression, but it misses something more...
