papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Apr 14, 2008 16.9 oz bottle from Port Carlsbad bottle shop: Slightly cloudy orange-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of over ripe tropical fruit. Flavor starts Rich and fruity with orange and apricot followed by a lightly grassy bitterness and a long dry orange rind finish. Medium body is zesty with moderate carbonation. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Apr 14, 2008 16.9 oz bottle pours a mostly clear apricot amber with a large offwhite head. Nice lacing in the glass. Aroma is grapefruit and pine hops with soft caramel tones. Palate has a medium body and creamy carbonation. Some hop oiliness. Taste is grapefruit rind and pine hop bitterness that is pleasantly balanced by the caramel malt. Earthy notes add character. Very well done. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA Apr 11, 2008 Copper, giant head. Absolutely lovely aroma of piney and sweet hops. Flavors are big on grassy grains, straw, white pepper, grapefruit hops, piney oils, and a lingering cloying residue of bitter hops. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Apr 10, 2008 Light caramel to copper in color with a frothy head of medium-sized bubbles. Aromas of fresh, ripe citrus fruits with some floral notes at the end. In the mouth this was medium-bodied and well-balanced with the flavors from the nose continuing. The palate was smooth and finished with a dry bitterness. This is everything that I would expect from a very well made IPA. That said, there was nothing thag grabbed me and forced me to pay attention. So, while I could drink this often, given the price it’s not going to happen. GMCC2181 (845), Bear, Delaware, USA Apr 10, 2008 Bottle: Aroma is sweet citrus hops. Nice orange color with a red tint. Decent head. Good bitterness along with a well balanced malt sweetness. Texture is medium/light. Simple but good! smashteroid (227), USA Apr 9, 2008 Served cold from bottle. This beer came highly recommended, so I was anxious to try it. It pours a translucent copper/amber color with a large, white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. The aroma is very hoppy, and rounded out with some floral notes. The flavor is crisp and filled with hops. The aftertaste is a little too bitter for my palate, but it is still quite drinkable and a good take on the India Pale Ale model. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Apr 8, 2008 Updated: Apr 9, 2008Orlando, Fl - Knightly Spirits - 500 ml bottle. Dark copper pour, fluffy, sticky white head that leaves a sticky coat of lacing. Sprrucey aroma, slighlty muted with some floral notes. Bitter grapefruity citrusy hoppiness; not tongue numbing; with some mint, a dash of nectarines and a back end of caramel. Standard IPA - nothing offensive here - nothing to push it above the others - other than its uniqueness that it is an American style IPA from Denmark. Good, sticky mouthfeel. Enjoyable. ironchefscott (341), portland, Oregon, USA Apr 8, 2008 an american styled ipa? more like a weak verson of an american ipa...much like most east coast IPA’s sorry east coasters...no offence meant!
but it just did not have any punch...most californian pale ales have way more hop complexity than this beer...which I paid way too much for 7 bucks...and I could have had a mahraja
